rossco2810
Reading the Qantas website, it would appear that on domestic flights pets, in suitable carriers, can be taken as part of your baggage allowance? i.e. instead of taking a suitcase you can take a pet carrier. Has anyone had any experience of this? We're trying to work out the best way to get our cat from Melbourne to Adelaide after she leaves quarantine! fifi69
We used Qantas to bring two dogs Sydney to Perth . because they are fat labs lol, we had to pay extra on top of our baggage allowance. Really easy to sort. Just give guest relations a call and tell them what flight you and your pet/s are wanting to book on. Then turn up at the airport where they will be weighed and if you owe anything you pay then. We hired one way dog crates from jet pets, they drop them off at the airport for you. virgin Australia also offer this service. It may have changed but the difference in two was, Virgin will allow one pet per passenger but Qantas allows two per passenger. there is limited space though ie only so many animals per flight. We booked 30 days in advance and were ok.
