Tanner76
We are due to move to Sydney in November and we have been blessed with the news that we are expecting another baby. As we won't be able to be covered by Private Insurance when the baby arrives (March) I was wondering if there were any charges involved using the Public Health system. I can't really find too much about it on the government websites so I was hoping someone here may have "hands-on" knowledge. Thanks!

aussiegirlbay
No cost for public hospital as all covered by Medicare, I had a normal delivery and absolutely Zero Cost:) Aussie Girl Bay
blossom
Some places charge for scans, but when you get a referral you can shop around for where you go and look for a bulk billing place. Chances are if you've had your 12 scan you won't need to worry anyway as the 20 scan is normally done at the hospital so is free anyway. Each state is different in how you go about registering with a hospital etc. If you google pregnant and where you are going to live it should give you some idea.
