bookem1979
Hi there, Can anyone recommend suburbs in Geelong that are good for families, close to a town centre and with good rail access to Melbourne ? Thanks
wolvesaussie
Rippleside. It's right next to north geelong station and the Melbourne road. I live there and work in Richmond. ..bit of a nightmare hoping for a local job one day. U can walk into town along the bay in 15mins. Rippleside park is good for kids

Then I get the local train to richmond.... it takes between hour and 15 and hour and thirty mind. So I usually get into work around 8:50. Going is normally fine..coming home drives me crazy as u choose ur train from richmond there are loads but sometimes they get.held outside finders street for ten mind and u miss ur train back to geelong

bookem1979
Possibly same reason. Wife is looking at a job there. Currently live in Point Cook so used to a commute. And coming from London originally, a long commute doesn't bother me!

cava83
Possibly same reason. Wife is looking at a job there. Currently live in Point Cook so used to a commute. And coming from London originally, a long commute doesn't bother me! Could not think of anything worse than commuting again. I used to do it to London, was around 1.5 hours one way. We moved for quality of live and avoiding those trains Saying that though, all the jobs are in Melbourne, descent pay ones anyway Rippleside is good as stated. I'd live there if I had kids.
