pomsoutofoz
Hello, thinking of starting my own business. Any ideas to share? Skills available are accounting and IT. Any home business ideas?
Marisawright
Do you have any ideas yourself? The obvious easy start is bookkeeping. Not very original, sure, but there are thousands of businesses out there with their receipts in a shoebox. I've known a few people who started bookkeeping when they had young children at home - they worried that they wouldn't get enough work, because there are so many bookkeepers out there already - but they were overwhelmed! "IT" is too general - what skills, precisely? Can you design websites? Could you be a Computer Geek (visiting homes to fix hardware, or set up new computers, or troubleshoot software)? Perhaps be a consultant for companies in some way? A small business can be all-consuming, at least for the first few years, so it needs to be something you enjoy doing. If you've never longed to own a cafe, for instance, you'd soon be sick of it. So if there isn't a business idea you can get really enthusiastic about, I'd be reconsidering.
