Jules RT
Hi, I'm after some advise please... I sat my academic IELTS a few weeks ago, but unfortunately l did not get the full 8 points for each section that l need for points. I'm now considering doing the general. Has someone done both and is the general easier? I was originally going for the academic as l was looking at state sponsorship, however, now I'm just thinking of going for the independent visa. Luckily my skills assessment working body does not need me to have an IELTS test, my British passport is enough. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. geordiegirl68
For immigration purposes, general is acceptable, the academic is required for certain skills assessments if you don't need it for that then do the general, and although I have only done the academic, I understand the general is easier. Good luck
nic1171
I found the general easier having done both, the reading and writing arent as intense
