elizabethkolo
Hi all, I earned my entire Bachelor of Secondary Education degree in Perth. I moved to the UK after graduating, and I'm looking at applying for either the 189 or 190. Trouble is, I'm seeing conflicting information on the DIPB website about whether I need a skills assessment or not. I realise someone will say 'get it on the safe side' but they aren't cheap and it's a long wait that I don't particularly fancy if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance
Ozmaniac
If you're applying for a 189 or 190 (or 489), you must have a positive skills assessment before you can submit an EOI. Doesn't matter if you gained your qualifications in Australia.

Thanks in advance I don't ever recall seeing anything on DIBP to suggest that skills assessment is optional when applying for a 190 visa. It is mandatory. VERYSTORMY
It is not the degree that is assessed, it your ability to perform the occupation. So all PR applicants must have a valid skills assessment
