ALROS Posted March 3, 2014 Share Posted March 3, 2014 I paid $1500 to export my pet dog to NZ in Dec 2013. The company I used (Company name removed. Pm for details) advertise themselves as being the best company to use in Australia - they are franchised around the country. They made an error when checking his microchip number against their own documentation despite two of them checking it off infront of my partner and I. This caused delays getting him through quarantine in NZ and meant having to be boarded. Despite admitting to the error they have refused to compensate for costs and have been belligerent in all dealings including with Consumer Protection. This service cost $1500 - they are unprofessional and not accountable and take your money and run. ALROS Posted March 3, 2014 Author Share Posted March 3, 2014 tonyman - NZ quarantine were awesome and let me see him so I could give him a cuddle and make sure he drank some water (he doesn't usually drink when he is stressed) = poor thing had just endured a 6 hour flight. So I got to cuddle him and then I had to put him back in his cage...which he didnt understand at all..and then he was driven 80km to a quarantine facility where he had to stay till the paperwork was all corrected. Fortunately after many phone calls all day (a day supposed to be spent catching up with family) and a long drive to go and get him, we got him out by the end of they day - needless to say he was ecstatic to see us Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But I have also posted about shoddy service re a well known Oz pet shippers, who thankfully we Didnt use per se, but even hiring crates from them was a near disaster.
