A small one bed place certainly seems more affordable in Melbourne than London and isn't much more expensive than sharing. Sharing in somewhere like st kilda will be around $250 per week and you can find one bed places for $300-$350. As Rupert says there is no better way, it completely depends on your preference. Personally I would prefer sharing but it's a bit if a gamble. With the right people its much more fun than being on your own, but with the wrong people can be a living nightmare.
