NickyNook
90 days Nanny? I thought it was 28? How do you get to that figure and what are the work rights? Cheers If you leave your current employer you now get 90 days to find another before you're in breach of your visa conditions. It changed from 28 days in July. NANNY NELLY
A 457 visa holder is generally given 90 days from the date they ceased employment to either lodge a new application or depart Australia. If, after 90 days, neither of these events have occurred, the cancellation officer will send you a Notice of Intention to Consider Cancellation (NOICC) letter which asks you to explain (in writing) why your visa should not be cancelled. It is at this point you may request a short extension (stating your reasons why) with the aim of using this extra time to either finalise your affairs to depart Australia or to lodge a new application. It will then be up to the cancellation officer to decide if your reasons are sufficient
