tracybayliss
HI guys my son is in oz and we have a PR 176 visa which was granted 4 years ago we seem to re call having a paper certificate confirming our PR visa but as this was a few years ago can not really remember. however 3 years ago we had a massive flood in our house while in oz and almost lost everything in our house. my son urgently needs this certificate to enable him to rent a house although he has his visa in his passport can anyone advise us how we get another urgently. thank you
Rupert
He doesn't need a certificate. In fact there is no such thing, it is just a grant letter. The visa in his passport is more than enough for renting.
calNgary
He shouldnt need his grant letter to apply for a rental, i have helped a lot of familys get rentals in the past and none have used a grant letter, nor have any been asked to show one. A covering letter with his personal documents should be enough. Has an agent specifically asked him for this letter? and if so what where the reasons? Incata
You can go to the DIABP website http://www.immi.gov.au and go to the VEVO section. Here you can register, input your passport details and it will show the visa you are on, it's expiry date and any restrictions on the visa.
