Melbkitty
Hi there I'm just completing my application for 186 visa (form 80 regarding character assessment) which is asking for details on my partner who is not included on the application as he is Australian "Is your partner of Arabic descent?" and also asks for the name of his father's father. Does anybody know the relevance of this question? Thanks
Guest littlesarah
I can't be specific about the 186 visa, as I came here on a 175 several years ago; however I had to complete a lot of information about my non-migrating husband. I didn't understand the relevance of a number of the questions, but I just answered them all and left it at that, mostly because I just couldn't be bothered to even begin to understand the logic of the people that run Immigration in Australia! Melbkitty
With you on that Sarah! My fella's dad is Lebanese & his mum is from QLD - he was born in Aus, he was just a little dumbfounded by the question!
Adam Grey
The Form 80 can also for the benefit of internal security and not just to do with the actual visa application, hence a lot of questions that seem to have no relevance to the application but might be of concern/interest to the Australian Government.
