G'day :biggrin::biggrin:

We arrived a week today and we are loving it. We are staying on Nobbys Beach which is next to Miami. Our feet haven't touched the ground we have done so much.

Hubby is busy speaking to Recruitment agents for work and all sounds optimistic so far and we have bought a car.

So the only thing we have left to do is rent a house and pick schools. This is a bit harder than expected. There loads of lovely houses but we are struggling to find a decent/good high school.

Could any recommend good high schools our eldest daughter is 13. We love Burleigh area but we need a good school first.

Many thanks

Hi The Wokos,

We have been living here 12 weeks and have settled in Varsity Lakes, great area, close enough to the beach to bike (and we regularly do) close to the M1 and right by the train station direct to brisbane...everything we were looking for.

We are renting a new (18 months old) 4 bed detatched single story house and are paying $510 a week. We found it hard to get a place on application as you need rental history which we dont have as we owned our own house in the UK, but when we offered to pay 6 months rent in cash up front the landlord was fine.....funny that!

Benowa is meant to have a good school.......only from what Ive been told so dont quote me on that.

Now knowing what I know about local schools Im glad we chose varsity as it seems to be the best area.

If we can help/advise anything else, let me know..still all fresh in our minds.

Thanks.

We have secured a house in varsity lakes there wasn't really a lot so we have got a 6 month rental with a view to changing in 6 months.

It also means our eldest can go varsity secondary college.

Also love that varsity is so close to Burleigh.

Thanks again
