hmsmark
Hello, I worked a portion of the year in Australia and am entitled to a tax refund. I went through expresstaxback.com.au which claims tax back in 7 days. I opted to have a cheque mailed. I have not received the cheque and it has been over a month. I've been communicating with them, and they initially said just to give it a few more days. Now, they don't respond to my emails. I was just wondering if anyone has worked with these people and actually received their money? It appears they have been around for a few years... Thanks for any help! Rupert
If they have been around for a few years I doubt it is a scam... perhaps you just need to be patient. A month doesn't sound like a long time.
Alan Collett
What reason have you been given for the delay in the refund finding its way to you? The ATO might be undertaking checks on the contents of your tax return - a registered tax agent should be aware of the reason for any delay in a tax repayment being processed. Ask for the name and contact details of their registered tax agent, and then ask him/her for more details about the delay in your tax refund. Best regards.
