DonnaBB
Does anyone know what the average shipping times is from oz to UK? We are looking at exclusive use of container. Thanks.
jen85
It depends but anywhere around 8 weeks as a minimum I would say. Mine took 10 weeks going to uk and then 12 weeks coming back to oz.

Chardy
You would be very lucky to get the 6-8 week range. It all depends on ship schedules, loading levels, customs clearance times etc, etc ! jen85
Thanks. Did you have sole use? Just wondered as ours took 8 weeks coming UK to Oz. No I was on a shared groupage, so this may have a bearing on the timeline. From experience customs seems to take longer here than they do over there. I would allow 10 weeks it seems to be the average.
fourcorners
The actual shipping, port to port, usually takes 6 weeks although bad weather/sea conditions would obviously slow it down. You can usually add at least a week onto the beginning and at least 2 weeks onto the end, as it takes time to clear customs. I think our container from UK to Australia must have the record for the longest, our house was packed up mid-September 2011, and arrived at our home in Kalgoorlie in mid-April 2012! Not the shippers fault, they were just waiting to get paid by our sponsor who took forever about it!
