Tbh, if you're flexi on where, the country is your oyster. Mareebe has work generally (athalton tablelands), and up that way, look out of cairns, lots of work and backpacker job shops up that way.

I know specifically there is currently work in sheparton in Victoria if you are very flexi, I have a couple of contacts down there if you are interested, but that's Vic not qld....

Good luck, just ask in the hostels and they should be more direct help up there at the moment, my knowledge on qld is mainly different time if year. Don't be shy in just rocking up to farms along the highway as you drive aling and asking uf they need anyone

Also keep an eye on this forum http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/backpacking-whv/ I usually post a number of vacancies but I've been out of action lately but I will try and start again this week. Also please help by sharing your experiences in this section, ie where you are staying in Sydney, what's it like etc

My friend sent me some details where she went last year hope that it will help someone:

"I went to Queensland, but not that far up. I stopped at 150Km from Brisbane. The town is called Gatton, which IS 40Km fro Towoomba.

I recommend you to have a look on gumtree in the section "travel partners", you'll find many people going north to look for harvesting jobs or if you r like enough, you'll find people that already know where they r going and maybe they can fit you in.

It looks hard at the beginning to find these job, but once u r on the spot it's much easier.

In Brisbane for example, many travel agencies advertise jobs like bananas picking, avocado, etc.

I started in July to work in the farm in Gatton, so I m not really sure about this time of the year.

Good luck!"

Hope this will help someone!
