Alan Collett Posted April 24, 2013 Share Posted April 24, 2013 The Australian Taxation Office is to ask the Department of Immigration for details of close to 1m visa grantees so assessable income, lodgment of tax returns, etc can be checked. http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/C2013G00598 Clearly those who are in Australia, and have not obtained Tax File Numbers or who have not lodged tax returns ought to be taking the initiative before the ATO comes a callin' ...
