Lou8670
My MIL is looking at applying for a contributory parent visa and is diabetic. Does this cause any problems in being granted a visa?
Rupert
It will no doubt lengthen the process, but it doesn't need to be a bar to immigration. I would recommend using an agent to handle the application however.

Bamboozled
An agent won't make any difference. Just means someone will tell you what to do, when to do it and charge you for it. Most people who can read are capable of doing the process themselves. My OH is insulin dependent diabetic and we did have a couple more hoops to jump through with a couple extra specialist appointments that just seemed to be another money making exercise to be honest. The main thing they want to know is if the diabetes is well controlled. i can understand that if you had a very complicated case an agent may well be beneficial as they should be immigration lawyers and know any loopholes or ins and outs of the system. But most people can do their own legwork, the DIAC tell you what they need and you do it. Good luck!
