Asking your case officer for a yes/no answer

Has anyone applied for the defacto visa and asked their case officer in the earlyish stages if they are likely to be granted the visa or not ?

We are about 2 months into the process and having submitted the extra material they required we haven't had any more contact, but due to personal circumstances my other half may need to go back to Australia within the next few months - a yes or no answer would really help us in terms of planning what we should do.

You can try asking. Do it by phone. Emails are easy to ignore.

You could ask the same question a different way...do they need any more information to allow them to grant your visa? If they have enough info and evidence to grant then the answer to that question is no...they don't need any more info. If they were going to decline you then they would say yes...and that's your opportunity to provide more (if you have any!)
