george106
Hello, we are about to fill Visa application and came across "Previous country of residence" section where we struggle a bit. We currently live in the UK (current permanent residency) but used to live elsewhere from birth. Over the years we moved few times within that country and can't recall when we actually moved to the last permanent address as required by application. Would it be wrong if we put "from birth" eventhough it's not actually true ?
blossom
Yes. Some countries share travel info from your passports. If they have this and see you were not honest then they will think you are hiding things. It only asks for the last ten years doesn't it?
george106
I believe they only ask for last permanent address in country other than usual country of residence (we only ever lived in two countries for longer period than one month). I am aware of the fact they may ask for form 80 later where I have to fill all addresses for the past 10 years but now I just need to be sure they would not cause any problems if the "Date from" is not absolutely accurate. blossom
I think I put approx on my dates and they were fine with that. Especially for holidays to Europe as I didn't even have stamps in my passport to check.
termis
Just take a guess and write down that dates are guesstimates in question #x in the additional notes at the end of the application. I did this for some travel dates and it was fine.
