Looking at your IELTS score at the bottom of your post, I see you did not score enough, did you re-sit to get at least 7 in each? If not, I guess it could be slowing you up.. rickjoann Posted January 27, 2013 Author Share Posted January 27, 2013 Thanks mate for the reply. After numerous attempts at the IELTS and unfortunately not managing to hit the 7's by 0.5 each time. I have put in an EOI for a 489, which we have been advised against but time is not on our side due to my sons age and educational needs. When are you hoping to go and do you have a job lined up ? pegibson Posted January 27, 2013 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Ah, the dreaded IELTS, I ended up doing it about 5 times to crack it, got it in the end though. If it had been much longer I would need all 8's, due to being 40 this year! No job lined up as yet, but my mentor back when I was an apprentice is out in Adelaide, he also incouraged us to go through with the visa. We are both stainless steel welders and fabricators, been doing it now for so many years, he said that there are lots of jobs for time served boilermakers in Adelaide.. hoping to go in the summer, but selling the house will determine that.
