SydneyBlue
So I'm on a 457 visa and am looking to do some additional part time work. I'm a qualified personal trainer and was thinking about doing a few hours here and there for a little extra income, but have heard I cannot get paid to work in addition to my sponsored job. Is this true? Cheers
Rossmoyne
Sydney Blue I am sorry but your 457 sponsored visa (if you are the main applicant) does not allow you to work for another employer. However if you are dependent on a visa 457, that is not an issue and you can work for as many employers as you can, so long as they are temporary positions and not permanent. Reason being you are temp residents so cannot hold a permanent position.
Tickled Pink
Yep, it's true. If you are a primary 457 visa holder you would be in breach of visa conditions to take secondary employment. It's fine if you are a spouse visa holder though.
