l55lee
Hi All I've read many conflicting views on POI about activating WA SS, so I thought it prudent to speak with migration myself. It turns out that I do have to physically activate the SS, it seems a little crazy that this can't be done at the same time that I validated my visa. It's worth having a look at this if you haven't seen it already... it tells you what you need to do - http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/skilledmigration/Pages/Newlyarrivedskilledmigrants.aspx. Cheers Lee HI This is good to know. we are not due to validate till june but then come back again to the uk and sort house etc out. Maybe this is why they want you to validate once you are permant in OZ as some return back as they are not quite ready to go!

Cheers Lee Does this means if we go to Brisbane to validate it and come back to UK, it only validates the WA SS when we go back and live in Perth? What if we decided to wait another year before going back to Perth?
l55lee
The SS doesn't kick in until you activate it. I don't believe that this has any impact on your visa though.
Alaa
Is this mean I can get a SS from Vic, and live in Sydney for three years, then get back to Melbourne to activate the SS and live there the required two years?
