Long term rentals

Lots of landlord don't want short term tennents. They don't want to have to pay to advertise again in six months, have open inspections etc. Then have the risk of it being empty with no rent coming in. Generally landlords who do six month leases are planning on doing something else with the house fairly soonish. You would be best off going in to see the real estate agents. They will have a good idea about which of their landlords would go for a six month lease.

When would you be wanting to rent from? Is it an issue of already being booked up? For example our next availability for any of our properties isn't until 24 Feb, so if you wanted something before then we wouldn't be able to help you.

I do find it surprising that nobody you've contacted would be prepared to lease to you for six months, at least in terms of fully furnished accommodation - properties in this niche are used to renting for much shorter terms.

Edit: I must add that blossom79 is spot on if you're talking about the standard unfurnished rental market however, if you're looking for an unfurnished (standard) rental property then you would be finding it difficult to find anywhere - landlords do prefer longer tenure.
