poochibabes
Hi there we have been in brissy now for four days and loving it. We have already done a shop at Aldi (trying to keep costs down) but I wondered if anyone knows of any good fresh food markets around that could save us even more $ or if they think the quality is better buying fresh from the markets compared to the supermarket? Thanks in advance Lou

Guest Guest16631
Brisbane's largest fresh food market is the Saturday Fresh Marketat Brisbane Markets, Sherwood Road Rocklea, open every Saturday from 6am to 12 noon. Over 170 stalls from producers all over South-East Queensland and Northern New South Wales feature here, along with international cuisine and entertainment. At this venue you will also find the Wednesday Twilight Fresh Market from 3pm to 7.30pm every Wednesday.
Alaska
We get most from Charlies Fruit Market in Everton Park. Some great deals but you need to be selective and check everything. Got 15 punnets of good quality strawberries for $7 today.

Guest megapixel
Brilliant list here, just adding one more: about a 30-40 minute drive from Brisbane, but worth it imho is Caboolture Sunday markets, starting at 6am all year round. A true Farmers' market and very reasonable; seasonal, local growers, huge! Has some growers selling hot chillies, Asian fruit, veggies, herbs etc that you don't see in the supermarket, also the best place for plants and always an interesting fleamarket. I miss those markets!
