bennyboy
Hi everyone, A member of my family takes Tegretol 200mg twice daily. We are trying to find out if we can get this Australia (Perth) SOR. We will be registering for Medicare on our arrival and wondered if this tablet is the same price in surgeries everywhere, or does it depend who dispenses it? Do you know how much a prescription is for this tablet? Look forward to your replies, thanks in advance.:cute:
spenner
Have a look here, it'll give you an idea of the cost, doesn't include the price of the prescription from the docs though. http://www.epharmacy.com.au/searchresults.asp?searchsection=products&terms=tegretol&stype=NP&expand=
Petals
http://www.chemistdirect.com.au/brands/tegretol/ gives you the prices. Prescriptions are provided monthly and therefore the cost is monthly, save for insulin which is one cost for six months.

Guest littlesarah
According to the PBS website it's just under $34 for 200 carbamazepine, a bit more for that branded Tegretol (unless I've misread the quantity). http://www.pbs.gov.au/medicine/item/1708X-1755J-2419H-5040G There's the medicare safety net for households with medical expenses over a certain limit (not sure what the limit is, I'm afraid).
