Hayfever is killing me!

I have no idea why but in the last few weeks I have been crucified with hayfever, itchy eyes, runny nose, and I am loosing the will to live. I was awake most of last night.

 

I never usually suffer, this has been the first time in years that I have had the symptoms.

 

Is anybody else finding the last couple of weeks a pain hayfever wise???

Yep. I am swallowing Zyrtec like they are jellybeans.

 

It is worse on the days that I am in Canberra, a bit better when I am in Melb and noticeably better in Sydney.

A very simple remedy is "MSM" probably get it in a health food shop or chemist and it really does help.

It saves me every time.

Depending on my symptoms, I find antihistamine tablets (the less sedating ones during the day, or sedative ones if my sleep is disturbed) work pretty quickly and usually do the trick. I also use a steroid nasal spray during the spring, when my nose symptoms are at their worst.

 

There's not a good deal of evidence to support the effectiveness of herbal and other alternative remedies, though I'm sure they're worth a shot if you'd rather not take conventional medicines.

I am on the antihistamines at the minute and they are helping but its the itchy eyes that are getting me......people keep asking me if I am alright because I look like I have been crying. Maybe I should milk it and take the sympathy )
