Guest matthemason Posted July 24, 2012 Share Posted July 24, 2012 Can anyone give me any names of old building that are unloved and falling apart/down I'm a stone mason and would like to make a difference, as this is now my home and I'm planing to put a wasp and the ear the heritage minister and or the heritage council. Skani Posted July 25, 2012 Share Posted July 25, 2012 I think the Heritage Council has a listing of all the old buildings in Tassie. The problem is the money. Some have been rescued and repaired by private owners with the means to do it and some are maintained by the government or volunteer organisations such as the National Trust. Walking up Macquarie Street from the city to the Cascades Brewery at South Hobart, you will see quite a few old stone buildings which need the tender care of a stonemason!
