Bellie
Hi Thank you for your replies so soon! We started the ball rolling back in July 07, appointed agent etc sent OH 's TRA documents before 1 sept deadline. Was informed by agent at begining of November that documents had been "lost in post" between agent and TRA. They re sent them but arrived after 1st Sept so TRA would not accept. Agent then spent 2 months trying to get TRA to accept documents but they would not!!!! Have now had to apply under vetassess and are waiting to see if OH has passed stage 1. Fingers crossed!!!! B Hi B Welcome to Poms in Oz. Why were the documents sent to TRA by post? Why were they not sent by courier so as to ensure that they could not get "lost"? :skeptical: Where is the evidence that they were posted in plenty of time and why did they get "lost"? Cheers Gill

Bellie
Hi Gill Our agent informed us that the documents were sent by the courier company operated by Australian Post, they were delivered to a company a few doors along the road from the TRA of a similiar name. They sat around on someones desk for a few days, this someone then rang our agent to explain what had happened. Our agent asked the someone to take the documents to the TRA as practically next door but the someone refused and had them sent back to our agent in WA. Our agent then resent them to the TRA, called the TRA in the meantime as Sept 1st was fast approaching to explain the situation and was told as it was not our fault they would be accepted. However, when they arrived the TRA refused to accept them and sent them back to our agent. our agent them spent the next few weeks trying to get the TRA to change their minds and acccept the documents, we did not find out any of this until early November. As you can imagine we were fuming as we felt like we had wasted the last couple of months doing nothing and were back to square one. Not only has it cost us more money in reaplying under the new rules but also in having more documents certified, courier cost to Australia etc. Gill, you seem to be a mind of valuble information so no doubt i will have a few questions for you over the next few months if that is ok!
