fluffyhead
Our rental car is going back on Saturday and we will need to look for a car of our own. We want a 4x4 such as Rav4 or Honda CRV, or Xtrail. Any advice from Tassie PIO members?
Skani
Do you mean where to buy one? And new or secondhand? If there is mechanical expertise in the family and you want to buy a used car privately you can search http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-automotive/hobart/c9299l3000211 http://www.tassiecars.com.au/ http://www.carpoint.com.au/ http://www.drive.com.au/ http://www.carsguide.com.au/?from=CG_logo Pickles Auctions have an auction every Tuesday. http://www.pickles.com.au/cars/auction/-/auctiondetails/sale_template_id/300000000 If you want to buy new or used from a dealer, just do a search for "car dealerships Hobart". There are quite a few along the Argyle, Brisbane, Campbell Street area and some more large yards at Moonah and Glenorchy. Saturday's "Mercury" newspaper is the main day for advertising cars. My daughter bought a very good (used) Toyota Camry from Tom King Motors, Argyle Street, but he is one of the smaller dealers and may not have the type of car you are looking for. Having said that. 4WDs of the sort you are looking for are very popular here, so you shouldn't have any trouble. Used cars do keep their value so you will undoubtedly pay more than in the UK. The RACT is the motoring organisation here and they will do an independent vehicle check on used cars (for a fee, of course). http://www.ract.com.au/
