  1. We used Seven Seas from UK to Tas door to door for a few boxes. Also had a quote from John Masons who will ship to Devonport.
  2. When did you go blonde Wendy? We will try to be there
  3. Sorry Wendy we won't be able to make Friday due to work:sad: but thanks for keeping us in the loop. Hopefully see you at the next meet up
  4. Thanks to all for the replies. We spent Monday and Tuesday in Broken Hill to have a look around. The journey has been amazing, travelling over to Melbourne on the Spirit, then driving to Mildura, and finally arriving in Broken Hill. We split the travelling up by staying overnight in Mildura, which is beautiful. We are both enjoying the fine weather which is great after the arrival of winter in Tassie. Not sure if work for the OH is going to be any more plentiful but we will see. Now just waiting for the official job offer.
  5. We had a great time too plus a wander around the museum followed by a stroll around the botanical gardens today to blow away the cobwebs.
  6. Hi Wendy Me and hubby will do our best to get there on Friday. It goes without saying that since we will be the oldest couple there we don't have any children. Not in Tasmania anyway. We are living in the Midlands and have been here since last June. May go for the red rose lol
  7. We are in Tasmania but work for the OH is hard to find. Tasmania is beautiful but some people would say it is remote
  8. Can our PIO friends help? Have done the usual google search on Broken Hill. Can anybody tell me what it's like to live there? There is a possiblity of a job there.
  9. We came to Tasmania in June this year on a 457 visa (me being the main applicant) and I have to say we love it. Problem is OH can't find work. He paid $1400 to convert his HGV license to a HC one but still can't find work. I am now considering trying to find another sponsor and moving to the mainland. What are other people's thoughts? Thanks
  10. It was the Radiance of the Seas. I think that's Royal Carribbean
  11. Me and OH went into Hobart yesterday and it was great to see the huge cruise ship docked. We also felt very proud to be able to say we live in Tasmania. Every day we count our blessings

    Dentist

Help I need a dentist in the hobart region. I've managed to break a tooth and will probably need it extracted. The waiting period on my dental plan is 12 months (ouch!!). Does anybody know a good and reasonable dentist??
  14. I spoke to NMC who advised I retire formally, but if I do return it is just a telephone call to re-register providing I have practised during the past 5 years. I'm sure I can find something to spend the money on:biggrin:

    Need a car

Our rental car is going back on Saturday and we will need to look for a car of our own. We want a 4x4 such as Rav4 or Honda CRV, or Xtrail. Any advice from Tassie PIO members?
