Maruska
Today is the 70th anniversary of a tragic event in my country`s history during the WWII. I feel so grateful for being able to live in peace and know that my family is safe. I stress sometimes over things that, in perspective, are trivial and unimportant . Even though I risk sounding like "Miss USA" candidate I really, really want world peace. link here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le%C5%BE%C3%A1ky

Maruska
The Lidice Massacre... Thanks for the reminder. Cheers, Bobj. This one is different, Lidice happened 2 weeks before this. Everyone in Czech usually knows about Lidice because of the number of victims, I selected Lezaky because there was no re-settlement, the only 2 people to survive the war were 2 sisters who were 3 and 1 year old at the time. They were selected for "germanization" and placed with german families, than searched for and returned after the war. The village doesn`t exist, there is just a memorial site. Lidice was rebuilt and the survivors moved back after the war ( no adult men survivors, only women and 17 kids).
