Guest The Pom Queen
I would recommend using Virgin the process is simple and very reasonably priced. Your biggest expense will be getting them from quarantine to the airport. http://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/plan/special-needs-assistance/pets/#fees-and-charges If you don't want to use their crates you can usually hire crates at the airport but need to book them in advance
calNgary
Hubby flew down to Newcastle airport and brought our dog back at Xmas, he used Virgin and they were great, we also hired a crate off them and everything was straight forwards and easy to do.. If they aren't accompanied then it is a lot more, we got quoted around $800 from Melbourne to Cairns, most of the time it's cheaper to fly down and back. Guest Longtime Lurker
Makes you wonder how airlines can charge what they do for excess baggage!
