Does anyone know if I qualify for a visa without sponsorship as a hairdresser?

I have been looking on the occupation lists and mine is under the 'general skilled migration visa'. What does this mean? Its so confusing:wacko:

Also, does anybody know how much my visa's will cost? Do my family come under my visa or do I have to pay seperatly for each one?

Thanks x

Hairdresser is on SOL2 which means you need state sponsorship to get a visa.

You should check the individual State occupation lists to see if any of them are sponsoring hairdressers at the moment.

If you get a visa your immediate family can come on yours. You only pay for the one visa.

Just checked WA's list (as in an earlier post you mentioned wanting to go there) and they are sponsoring hairdressers.

Your first task is to get a skills assessment completed, if you were to go down this path.

You can read everything related to migration on the DIAC (Australian Department of Immigration) site.

Start here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/

Booklet 6 has all the specific details here on Skilled Migration: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf

If it doesn't make sense or you need assistance, it's probably best to consult an immigration agent.
