And the places to definatley avoid, hopefully moving over in the next couple of months or so after all the formalitis are done and dusted and working to the south of the city near phillip. Quoll Posted April 19, 2012 Share Posted April 19, 2012 Probably avoid Narrabundah down in that neck of the woods and also some of Mawson is a bit ropey as are some bits of Curtin/Lyons (you can tell, just by driving past the blocks of flats). If you have money then aim for somewhere like Yarralumla, Manuka, Kingston (new bits), Barton (if you want apartment living). Always check out the neighbourhood, Canberra has salt and pepper public housing (ie every suburb except one has public housing somewhere in it) and sometimes those areas can be a tad ghettoish but more often than not you dont know if you are living next to a public housing tenant or not - and you dont have to be a public housing tenant to be a bad neighbour!
