Too expensive now. Aura might be a little bit cheaper but not along the coast. Anyone who has bought in this area?

Hi, We are retirees moving from.Sydney and considering Mooloolaba or Maroochydore in the Sunshine Coast. Are there areas to avoid in Maroochydore in terms of safety? What areas would you recommend for retirees not wanting to drive and have access to facilities like medical, shopping, group exercise, safe beach swimming, entertainment i.e. theatre, public transport, community atmosphere, seniors clubs Thanks.

Totally agree with you about Main Beach. We stayed in an apartment a couple of times before - but at this stage we prefer to buy a house and the prices there are beyond our budget.

Which part of Hervey Bay would you recommend,?

What do you think of Maroochydore? Is there any area that may meet my described requirements? Thanks

Would you have any recommendations for a real estate agent in the areas of Caloundra, Mooloolaba ? Looking for a house to buy. Thanks.

Sorry I didn't mean to ask the question and have a reply from one person but perhaps a reply from different people who would live in the respective local areas.

Are you satisfied with the medical facilities in Queensland (Coombabah, Caloundra, Hervey Bay, Mooloolaba and Noosa) ? In an emergency do you get immediate attention? Do you have adequate specialists? As we are retirees, and only one of us drives, this is important to us.

So do you mean that Hervey Bay has good public transport?

I worry about cyclones. Not sure if Cairns is spared from this.

Indeed! You nailed it. I love Sydney - but I just don't like the weather of extreme cold and extreme dry heat. My country of origin is the tropics, married to a Pomey. We have been exploring Queensland and have been there at least 3 times mainly to explore, 10-14 days at a time, starting from Tweed Heads to Noosa. We have been there in January, April, July-august. But unfortunately we haven't found our ideal place yet and may never find it. . But It is such a vast area to explore. So far we have discovered that we may miss the infrastructure, some facilities and the variety of ethnic restaurants in Sydney. However at this point we haven't given up. Thank you for summing it up.
