    Mooloolaba Nippers Sign On

Its the Mooloolaba Surf Club Nippers sign on - 9th Sept. http://mooloolabasurfclub.com.au/active/nippers/sign-up/ If you live near the ocean and your kids love the beach then they need to be safe and know how to read the beach. Nippers will teach them that and they'll have great fun.

    Buderim and Mooloolaba

Hi all, I've been in Oz as a permanent resident for 3 weeks now, Im currently staying with my brother in Sandgate and my wife and 7 year old son will join me the 1st week of August. My wife had chosen Buderim as the place she'd like to begin our new lives without ever going there, just from research on the internet, reviews of schools, demographics etc. This weekend I snagged my brothers triumph bonneville and had a cruise up there to check it out. I've fallen in love with the place. its gorgeous. I now am determined we will settle in Buderim or mooloolaba. I have a question though, what are my chances of finding work there compared to Brisbane? I'm a carpenter by trade. and do any of you know what the commute to Brisbane from the sunshine coast is like during the week? I imagine friday night and monday morning may be hell. Regards, Billy

    Mooloolaba

I am due to fly over to Aus in late November. I will initially be working in Cooran but the HQ is in Brisbane which I will be required to vist from time to time. Do you think Mooloolaba is a sensible choice to live with my family as I want to be home most nights rather than staying away whilst on a project.

  6. Can anyone offer any suggestions for getting from Sunshine coast airport to mooloolaba this Friday 22nd (return 29th) For 2 adults one 14 year old. Don't mind a shared bus/taxi, but so far prices seem about the same as a taxi $40 each way? Is this the going rate - staying at raffels apartments Corner First Ave & Venning Street near the esplanade. Would prefer to book online or phone in advance. Thanks

    Mooloolaba to Brisbane commute

Hello all, This is our first posting on the site - so please be gentle! We have a PR visa and are flying out to Brisbane in Jan 2010. :spinny: We are planning on living in Mooloolaba. We have read quite a few threads saying that the daily commute to Brisbane from there is not particularly enjoyable due to trafficd volumes and taking approx 2 hrs. We are therefore planning that Hubby would commute by motorbike thereby avoiding most of the long queues. We are wondering if anyone does this commute by bike and what there experiences are. Alternatively we could drive to say Narangba and then commute in by train. Anyone else doing this. Thoughts welcome! Gill and Richard

  12. Hello! We are looking for some advice on moving to the Sunshine Coast. Does anyone know what the job situation is looking like there at the moment, particularly for positions in IT and Recruitment? We are a young couple so would like a reasonably lively place with a good cafe, bar and pub culture and good rental properties. Thanks!
  13. Hi guys Wondered if anyone had experience of the Primary schools in the Kawana, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Buderim area's. We are looking to move to this area in 2009 (fingers crossed) with 3 children 8,5,2. Can anyone give me their opinion of schools in these area's or recommend any. Trying to do as much research as possible but peoples experience and opinions are usually the best place to start. Thanks Lisa
  14. Hi i was wondering who was heading and where. It takes ages to read through all the threads and as i have 1001 things to do before we head of to Australia in August i thought i would be lazy and post my own. We are heading for the Mooloolaba area (Moutain creek, buderim, kawana island, maroochydore) the later part of August this year and was wondering if anyone heading the same way. We are Caroline 34 - a bit of everything, Laurie 41 - a plumber and Mitchell 10 and Mason 7. We have been over to Australia twice and can not wait to make it our permanent home. I would love to hear from any of you heading this way - or other.....
  15. Hello - I'm was hoping I could get help or personal preference from folk I've found the same Fitness course (tafe) which is being offered in both Brissy & Moooloolaba. I just can't decide between the two. I have been to Brisbane before and loved it, but I'm also hearing that Mooloolaba is lovely too Being a student I have to think about the cost of things ie; accommodation, food & also part-time work etc.... Is there much difference between the two? In people's opinions, what would be the best place for a student? Thanks Lynchy

  18. Hi all you going to be students!!! Paul has had his first induction at mooloolaba which was a general get togeather for all course students ie brickies, hairdresser, pastry chefs etc. He said they just told them general things about renting, buying cars, using suncream etc . He also met the people he would be on the course with, and he has now met John Brown, heathers husband and he said he is really nice and what a great bunch of lads he will be with, he thinks only about 10 on his course and about 7 english!! He thinks they should have a good laugh...hopefully they will work hard too!!!! He has another induction day at his college/tafe in Nambour next week. He is really enjoying being there and said it is like paradise and can't wait for us to come. Nor can we , not long now!!! Yvonne
