Is there any migration agent on this forum?what’s happening to visa applicants from  Hospitality sector lot of people are waiting just for a Visa and nomination  has been already approved

    Thanks in advance

I feel your stress, guys 😞 The Department can probably ask for a confirmation of the employment, which you can upload without waiting the RFI (Request for Further Information) letter.

If not s48 barred like no refused or canceled

    Then can do onshore

Can apply both same time like fresh sc482 from different employer while waiting current 186 file

Correct, if not s.48 barred, you can apply onshore.

If you apply for a new sc482 visa, you will get a bridging visa C.

The risk is that the sc186 application is refused after your sc482 new application: in this case you will have to apply for a bridging visa E, which will reset your time in Australia for your future Australian citizenship

    Hii

Thanks for your reply. Is it possible to know which time period application are processing.

    Appreciate your feedback.

    Thanks

From many of the posts here, it seems that there's not a chronological order (i.e. by date of application)

If Visa were granted before 17th April 2017?

    Which visa?

Probably you are getting confused with 186 TRT (transitional from 457/482). If you are on a 457/482 visa and this was applied for before 18 April 2017, the PR pathway through 186 TRT as a cook is still open for you until  March 2022.

    @Laura Zorzi Hi Laura.

My nomination approved on 8th April 2020.

    just waiting for Visa only.

My employer filed for Jobkeeper, do you think i will get any trouble from Immigration?? or once Nomination approved, no need to worry for Visa??

    please Advise??

In some cases, the department can request a confirmation of employment still available.

  6. Nominations in the hospitality industry are getting highly scrutinized, above all in relation to the genuineness of the position (given that many Australians have lost their job) and the financial capacity of the business to support the nominated salary (given the loss incurred by many venues).

From your information, I can see that further information have been already requested in February (before the covid outbreak). If the business has updated documents showing that it can still financially support your position and that it still genuinely needs you, I would upload them.

Hopefully this will speed up the decision.

  7. Nowadays it depends on the occupation - if in the hospitality sector, it seems that they are taking longer to be processed given the current crisis.

However, generally a 186 nomination can take up to 6-8 months, 187 nomination even longer.

  8. In these circumstances (COVID-19), to circumvent the 8558 condition, you can simply apply for another visa.

You can try to request any stay, the Department will then decide the length of the visa validity.

There has been no declaration in regards to when the travel restrictions will be lifted, so there is a possibility that your mother will not be able to return in November.

  9. When do you intend to travel to Australia?

Given the current travel restrictions for temporary visa holders, there's a possibility that your child on a visitor visa may not be granted permission to enter.

If you are looking to move to Australia next year, you can consider to apply for the Child visa offshore now.

Hello Aussiebird, I have read all your posts as about to start an application ... for the initial part the sponsor part - is that a seperate fee from the 7.7k one? And what do they want to know? Thanks in advance

The sponsorship application won’t attract an additional fee. You will be able to submit it after your partner/spouse’s application.

As a sponsor, you will be requested to provide your personal information, your travels and residences for the last 10 years, character declaration, consent to disclose any offences to your partner/spouse and to abide by your obligations. Further, you will have to provide an Australian (and any foreign, if applicable) police check.
