  1. Quantas is our back up flight and really hoping to make the Singapore one in November but good to hear the news about Quantas thank you I will take any positive news I can get at this stage!
  2. We are booked with Singapore to MEL for 4th November and we also booked with Quantas for January flying into Perth just incase we cannot take the November flight. You cannot book more than one flight with Singapore so we took the Qantas option because once it starts opening up towards the end of the year I think the next flight we would get is probably well after March/April next year! Have you checked the seats on your flight for the 8th? We had a look and currently only 9 seats confirmed.. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing though, Lol!!
  3. Great information, thank you!
  4. Not an ideal situation having to remain in the UK when we have things that need sorting too like jobs, schools, homes etc!! I think you will be okay and get your flight!
  5. Didn't realise no job to go to so that is stressful! Not long to go till you fly, fingers crossed for you!!!!
  6. We ended up booking another flight to Australia in January next year. We still have our November flight this year and hoping that one goes ahead. People sound super desperate to get home so I would rather they get the seats with DFAT and also the chances of 5 of us getting on the DFAT flight are slim to nothing in the next couple of months so I'm not going to try If I remember correctly you are due to fly soon? No cancellation on your September flight I hope? Fingers crossed you get lucky with DFAT as your back up plan but ultimately hope you get your Singapore flight!
  7. Makes sense i guess if you arrive very late at night!!!
  8. Okay, thank you! (Looking at securing a second flight in to Perth but will need to fly to Melbourne after our quarantine period so was just wondering when to book the Perth to Melbourne leg) x
  9. I read a blog that said due to the different times people arrive in Australia they start day one of quarantine the morning after your flight. Is this true or does the 14 day quarantine start on the day you arrive?
  10. Very useful information thank you Maussie
  11. Hi Jon, hope you get to see this. I have another question: Are the flight prices cheaper for children or is it a standard price across the board? And lastly, how soon after you registered did you received any feedback from DFAT? Thank you!
  12. Oh hey Jon, me again!! lol Just looking at other options. Ideally we need to get to Melbourne. But we just cannot see our November flight going ahead at this rate, so thinking of other flight options and have one for January but its flying into Perth!! Sigh.. Such bad luck all this lockdown / vaccine business!!
  13. Has anyone stayed in the quarantine facilities in Perth with a family of more than 4? We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) and believe they only let 4 stay in a room. They let you have another room, but cannot guarantee them to be adjoining rooms. Trying to find out as much as possible before booking flights to Perth (from UK) Thank you
  14. Yes thanks ill make sure she has sorts of goodies. She likes to move 24/7 so its just a matter of keeping her happy/still She has never flown before! Our current flight departs 10pm so that they can all sleep but who knows if we still get that flight. My fingers are crossed!!
  15. By forms are you referring to the repat flight? Fingers crossed for the 15th!!
  16. So we are in a similar situation to you! We will also try book a repat flight for sometime in November. Also considering a 3rd flight for January but that is also stretching us way out of our timeline! It would be great to hear how you get on so do please keep me posted if you can!!
  17. We will register asap! Im still hoping we wont need it!! Did you do the repat flight yourself Jon? (A 3 year old and no inflight entertainment is a scary thought!! )
  18. Thank you so much! You have been extremely helpful here! And i appreciate you taking the time to help us! Yes, we are in the UK!
  19. We (2 adults, 3 kids) have a flight booked with Singapore airlines for the 4th of November. We have spoken to them and as it stands they are not cancelling that flight. Due to the situation in Australia currently and the low caps on flights as it stands, we are considering the repatriation flight as a Plan B, but we know very little about it. So i am reaching out to anyone that has the knowledge / who has done the repat flight and can please share any information with us. I have many questions: 1) How long does it take to get an approval code 2) How easy is it to get flights once released 3) How regularly do the flights run 4) How much do the flights cost more or less 5) Do they only fly to Darwin 6) Are there any complications when connecting to an onward destination from Darwin 7) how often are flights released how does it affect quarantine when you leave Darwin and enter Melbourne (for e.g) 9) Do approval flight codes expire? Thank you
  20. Brisbane and back in 6 days Craig, not gonna lie, absolutely dreading those two weeks!!
  21. You're amazing, thank you! I do worry about letting her out her seat even once, lol, because i fear i may never get her back in again!! She has never flown before. She may surprise me but i won't hold my breath. She absolutely doesn't sit still for love or money.. But i think with a night flight and already being tired im hoping I can get her to sleep for majority of the ride. My husband and I might just have her sit with us and my 2 boys can be together - that way hubby and i can take her in turns - it usually takes all 4 of us to look after her!! Im going to buy a Doodle slate, thank you for the idea!
  22. Thank you - I think if we do the 10pm flight she would have had a very long day and will be tired (over-tired)
  23. Thanks so much - do you remember if you did a night flight? As this is what we are thinking might be better for all 3 of our kids. The 10pm flight.
