Thank you, yes that is what i am familiar with but i think he misses the April cut off to be able to begin High School there 2022, because his birthdate is June - so as far as i have read online he will have to do year 6 there 'again', starting Jan/Feb 2022. (which i am fine with just curious to see if anyone has done this and how it went). From what i understand, with him being born in June 2010 he will only start high school in 2023.

My son is currently in year 6 in UK, due to start year 7 (high school) in September. However, we are planning to move to Melbourne late September and im almost sure he will have to go into year 6 'again' (i know diff work and same age peers) - Just wondering if anyone has had their child do their last year of primary school again instead of doing their first year of high school and how did they cope?? My son turns 11 in June this year (2021) He misses the cut off as far as what i have researched online to go into his first year of high school there (Melbourne) Also, is Year 6 the same as Grade 6? - (last year of primary school) or are the grades different to UK?

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this school? I know it is quite a specific question but it is the school in the area i am looking at. Also looking at the Sandringham college 7 to 9 - if anyone has some input. Thanks.

Im pleased the question of quarantine was asked because i was wondering the same! Ive signed up to Petair UK too but we are not very far in the process, our cat only had the jab last week and now having to wait the 4 weeks until the bloods. I am also hoping we can coincide ourselves with the arrival of our cat on the other side in Sep/Oct!! SO much to co-ordinate and now reading all this about cancelled flights and flying into Sydney instead has me re-thinking everything With 3 kids we were thinking of going to stay in Singapore but with the added Covid tests etc i think we are just going to try go straight and get it over with!! I hope someone who has done it all comes back on here to comment. About flying into Melbourne, the quarantine in Melbourne etc.. That would be nice, Lol!! I hope things ease later on this year with all the new rules - that would be ideal!

Thanks for your reply. i was just wondering if im in Australia on an employer sponsored visa and whilst there - can i transition to permanent residency after a period of time? And if so, will the 45 age limit apply?

Im just wanting to know if i get sponsored to work in Australia, can i still apply for permanent residency in 4 years time if i will be over 45 years old?
