  1. No I’m not in Australia. Are you? The waiting is pretty bad. I used a migration agent and didn’t realise they would receive the result and been obsessively checking my email at all hours of the day and night. Anyway I wish you the best of luck. Let me know if you hear anything.
  2. Hi Krishna, I applied on 12th August and I’m an occupational therapist. I have 70 points. Fingers crossed we hear before the 10th September. Will you be able to apply for another visa if it doesn’t come through in time? How many points do you have? Green
  3. The waiting is just terrible. I wish I could think about something else! Anyone waiting on an invite from Tasmania on a 489 visa? There’s only a few more weeks left before it ends completely. Breathing 1, 2 and 3.
  4. Hi 489’s, Any of you had nominations in the past month? I put my expression of interest in a few weeks back and just can’t stand the waiting! Green
  5. Hi Kaleem, That’s great to hear!! The clock is ticking now. I am scheduled to do to the PTE exam on Monday and have to score in superior range for the points to work. I’m English speaking but trying to refresh on different areas. Hope you’re plans for migration are going well. Green
  6. Hi Modasser, No I am still in process of getting EOI organised. Are you waiting for a result of EOI?
  7. I did a survey of the last 3 years and couldn't accrue 20 hours each week for a year (have 22 weeks lacking) so I have given up on SA option. Think if you have 20 hours contracted then that's different. I had 15 hours at one stage and now 18 hours and topping up with weekend shifts (ad hoc rather than each week). Thought I could total the hours worked, but that doesn't seem the case. Good luck with everything.
  8. Just to let anyone who has this query that having spoken to an agent, they told me that only the period of mat leave which was paid in full could be counted towards your work experience. And hours of work cannot be averaged, so I believe this means, you have to prove each and every work you were working at least 20 hours. Hope this is helpful to someone.
  9. Hi All, Wondered if anyone could help with possible time frames of processing of 489 sponsored visa (Tasmania) as time is ticking by and I reach the grand age of 45 in mid September. The website says 3 months, but wondered if this was worse case scenario or whether they are ITA quicker than this. I have emailed the state, but no reply as of yet. Thanks.
  10. Ok, thanks. Have tried a few this morning and got very vague answers.
  11. Wondered if anyone could help me? I would like to know what my chances of success if I applied for a SA 489. I’m a 44 year old allied health professional. Over a decade of experience, but last 3 years have been a mixture of 15 to 18 hours of permanent work mixed with ad hoc shifts for local hospital. I think this could add up to 20 hours if calculated over the 3 years to add up to 12 months work at 20 hours. If that makes sense to anyone. Currently I’ve worked 18 hours a week for 10 months and had a number of ad hoc weekend shifts so thinking I’ve got those hours to make up the 20 hours required. Anyway, my maths isn’t my strong suit and I don’t have longer to accrue 20 hours, so just wanted opinions. Many thanks in advance.
