    Hi,

I did , in my case I knew it will be approved soon so I called and emailed them as well .. they said they understood since a lot of nurses go through this issue . Just make sure you are definitely going to get approval in-principle . Give it a try . Good luck

Did they give you a specific time frame?

    Thanks.

    Hello and congratulations!!!

Were you able to apply for Victoria nomination without the AHPRA in-principle approval?

    Hello Guys ,

I already had my ANMAC assessment done last year  in March as I am a US nurse , it was pretty easy . The AHPRA process was started in December but there was a delay from one of the board of nursing with sending my COGS.. I have two EOI , one in VIC and one in Qsld .. so I spoke with them and they mailed the last COGS 2 weeks ago .. don’t know if the can finalize for me in the next two weeks .. otherwise I might need to not accept the pre-invite and wait .. I’m not sure how long it will take again ..

    Hello,

Good luck on receiving a pre-invite from Victoria. I am also a registered nurse in the U.S., done my ANMAC assessment last year, but I only have 1.5 year of nursing experience. Hopefully, Victoria will keep the same requirements and I will be able to apply after 6 months....although my score is not as high as yours...

Keep us posted regarding the AHPRA outcome....

    Hi guys!

I just started my assessment with ANMAC, will be submitting all the documents by next week. I should have 70 points for 189 and 70+5 for 190. I was looking into 489 as well but it seems that only Tasmania nominates people without requiring onshore experiences? Or am I mistaken?  Also, is it possible to submit EOI for 190 at VIC and 489 with TAS or would that look as though you're  not willing to commit to one state?

Thank you in advance for your replies!

Applied AHPRA 18/12/2018. IQN applied 5/7/2019. AHPRA refused 8/7/2019. Registered with New Zealand Nursing Council 13/11/2019. Trans-Tasmanian Agreement applied 26/11/2019. Registered with AHPRA 30/12/2019. ANMAC applied 7/1/2020.

    hello,

did you still have to show up in person at AHPRA office to obtain registration (through Trans-Tasmanian Agreement)?

    Thanks

    hello,

    congrats on the visa grant!!!

I do have one question regarding the average registered nurse salary in  Tasmania. Is it hard to meet the minimum income requirement of 53, 900?

    thank you and good luck!

    Hi Ash,

I'm not a professional who can judge if it's all good. I've given you all the info you needed and I'm sure if you do your best it will be sufficient 😊

    Best of luck x

    Hi Martina,

Are you still waiting for your visa to be approved?

I received a positive skill assessment from ANMAC ,( ANZSCO code Medical). I wanted to ask you if the Department of Home Affairs requires proof of work experience if one is not claiming points for the same? And if they do require proof, are reference letters enough or they ask for more documents like tax returns, pay slips...?

    Thanks,

    Kate

What is the name of the migration agency if you don't mind sharing?

    thanks

    Hi,

I've submitted EOI for 189 with 70 points as well, I know people in our same situation have been waiting for few months. As Martina said you might get better chances with 190 depending on the state.

Does anyone know if there's different chances to get invitation sooner if you're medical instead of critical care nurse or viceversa for example, or all registered nurses have same chances to get invited?

    Hello,

Did you get your skill assessment for RN (Medical)?

I have a difficult time deciding which ANZSCO code to use. I am a registered nurse working at a clinic for asthma and allergies, and cannot decide between RN (nec), RN (Medical),  or RN (medical practice). I even asked a few migration agents and they all told me different things. I am really confused and do not want to pick a wrong ANZSCO code.

anybody here with a similar experience? Any recommendations for good migration agencies?

    thanks,

    kate

    Hi,

Had submitted my application on June 5. Waiting. Fingers crossed.

    Hello,

congrats on the invite. I am currently doing my skill assessment with ANMAC and would like to apply for 489 visa for SI. I have almost 1 year of nursing experience as a registered nurse at a clinic for asthma and allergy clinic. I have applied as an RN nec with anmac because I could not figure out which ANZSCO code is the best fit for my occupation.

How many years of nursing experience do you have? I am afraid to apply because I know SI asks for 2 years of nursing experience onshore. Do you have nursing experience in Australia? I have also seen many nurses approved for nomination without meeting this requirement.

my score is 60+10=70 points total.

    Hi Martina,

Thanks for your quick reply. Right now 60+5 is my points only.

I have checked all other requirements for Tasmania and find myself fitted here. So thinking of submit EOI and thanks again for your advise.

    Sincerely,

    M

    Hello Modasser,

Hope all is well. Do you mind sharing what kind of visa did you get initially for Tasmania? I also have 60+5 points and was thinking to apply for 190 or 489 visa for NSW, but I might consider Tasmania as an option.

    Thank you!

    That's great! Congrats!!!

do you have 65 points total including the 10 points for nomination?

How long did you wait to get invited? How many years of nursing experience do you have? I only have 1 year of experience.

I have total of 70 points (60 +10), currently doing my skill assessment with ANMAC, and then I will apply for 489 visa. This gives me hope that I might get an invite with 70 points:)

I was an overseas nurse. Completed my Bachelor of Nursing back in Dec 2013. And was registered for the first time in Nepal in 2014 April. I graduated in Masters of Public Health from deakin university in July 2017. So, i guess i don't qualify for applying directly.

I really d my best to get more points.

I am really worried as my TR is expiring soon 😭

    Hello,

were you able to claim points for your Masters degree? I am in the same situation, overseas nurse with less than 1 year of experience and thinking to apply for 190 with 65 points or 489 with 70 points, both for NSW as I do not have a lot of experience.

The other option is to apply for a student visa, and I was also looking at doing a Masters of Public Health, but I am concerned if I will be able to claim extra 5 points for my studies as it is not Master in Nursing. I know MPH is a good option for registered nurses, but just want to make sure I can claim points if I decide to do it.

were you able to work as  a registered nurse while you were a student and claim points for this, or you had to wait to get your TR first to claim points for work experience?

    your help is greatly appreciated.

    good luck!

Hiya, we got formal invite from immigration on 3rd May. Our agent is now sending all relevant documentation to them, we have 60 days to get it in. We haven’t done police checks or health assessment yet as my eldest is doing her GCSEs next year so we want to move after that and will only get 12 months to enter. If it takes a few months for the CO to ask for them then it could all line up nicely.

Think im going to do AHPRA when we get there. Will just need to take more funds to cover us till I get a job. Or send the hubby down the mines lol.

Good luck with your application. 😄

    hello,

congrats on your invite! I am also a registered nurse, educated and currently working in the US at a Clinic for asthma and allergies. I have  less than 1 year of experience, but by the time I am done with my skill assessment, I am sure I ll have 1 year of experience. At the moment I am thinking of what ANZSCO code to use, registered nurse nec, or registered nurse medical practice. Is it possible to change your code after you apply to ANMAC, but before your assessment has started?  I am not sure what are the chances of getting an invite with  a skill assessment for RN nec.

It is so nice to see that people with 70 points are getting invites, as I am in the same boat. I was thinking to apply for 190 for NSW with 65 points (including sponsorship), but 489 might be a better option, although many of the regions do not accept applications at the moment.

Any recommendations for good migration agents?

thank you and all the best with the paperwork and the application process.

    Hi Kate,

Ad 1, I think the ANZSCO code should mirror the field you've worked the most during your carrier and of course you have to provide a professional reference letter from the hospital. With me it was easy, I only worked in surgery.

Ad 2, you can get your international clearance from your home country without travelling back there. At least that is true in the most cases. It will just take longer for the document to arrive internationally if sent by post.

Ad 3, The fact that you'll be RN with AHPRA at that time would be ok as it is one of the main requirements for 190/189. There are lot of people who do it this way and are able to claim the points for their masters I don't see a reason why you couldn't do it too.

    Hope this helps x

    Martina

    thanks:)

    Hey y'all,

I just want to give you heads up that I've been invited to VIC just AFTER THREE DAYS SINCE LODGING THE EOI! It's unbelievable that it was that quick!

    Hello again,

I do have a few more questions:

    1. what is the most reliable resource for an accurate description of the ANZSCO code? I have a difficult time deciding on mine, whether to use RN nec or RN medical practice for working at Asthma and allergy clinic.

    2. Is there a way to do international criminal background check for other countries while in Australia, or you have to go back to your country and do one?

    3. My alternative option is to go for my Master of Science in Nursing in Australia for some extra points, however, my concern is whether this will be recognized for extra points since I will be already registered with AHPRA and be qualified to work as a registered nurse..Anybody here with similar experience?

    Thank you all,

    Kate

I have an agent who submitted our EOI on the 13th October 2018 and we are still waiting for an invite. I’m a critical care nurse with 65 points. My agent said this is the longest he has waited for an invite. I’m getting so disheartened, and worrying that we’re not going to get there. Anyone in a similar position, or have received invites?

    thanks in advance.

    Hello,,

Just read your post. Congrats on getting an invite. I am also a registered nurse and want to apply  for 190 visa with 65 points or 489 with 70 for NSW.. I know the wait going to be long, but it's worth trying... Just trying to find a good immigration agent at the moment....

    Good luck.
