Not too long too go..

Thought I'll share the progress. Great News to Everyone who has been waiting, especially Remaining Relative Visa.. As at 31 December 2022, we have released for final processing: Remaining Relative visa applications with a queue date of up to 31 July 2012 Aged Dependent Relative visa applications with a queue date up to 31 July 2012 Carer visa applications with a queue date up to 1 November 2021. We can see the progress on the Carer Visa has jumped by leap from 26 July 2018 to 1 Nov 2021! That means, they only have 2 Nov 2021 - 28 Feb 2023 to be prioritise.. and the rest quotas would be available for Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent.. My QD is 2 Jan 2013.. So I think it should take another 2 year max for it to be released for final processing! As of this year, it has been 13 years wait since first application.. so total estimated 15 years wait!

Yep, i dont think there is any further progress. Still have to wait for a few more years..

Hi Marisa, As you read - it is as of February 2021. It is March now. Eg: Someone in this forum had his Carer Application with QD of Dec 2017 released from the queue (it should have been processed up to Oct 2017 on Feb 2021). If anyone got info, please share Thanks.

Hi Aniki, Does your friend (QD Nov 2011) end up getting released? I'm pretty disappointed to see the update above. Apparently the Immigration have used up all of the year quota for carer only. They processed from 19 June 2016 - 11 Oct 2017. Based on my summary the latest news as at Sept 2019 should be: Carer has been released with QD up to 11 Oct 2017 Remaining has been released with QD up to 02 Aug 2011 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I wonder how many Carer application are there from 11 Oct 2017 - to date. And I wonder if we will ever catch up with the numbers.. If they are going to release Carer only for next year then I'm expecting mine (QD 2 Jan 2013) to be released in about 5 years time

Agree with you Dean. People on this visa are working hard. paying taxes and dont get the benefit of centrelink. On top of that, we need to keep medicare updated, applying bridging visa B anytime you get out of the country and y remain bounded with all these circumstances for a minimum 10 years time. Also when i mentioned about clearing up it meant to talk about government increasing the yearly migration program level for this remaining relative visa, which they only allocate 500-600/year.. Why dont they give a relaxation and cut some other categories like partner/independent skill by 5000 and allocate it to remaining relative to reduce the gap of processing. Those categories has around 100k placement available every year.. Anyway just me bitching about this inconsiderate government.. I think waiting period over 5 years with limited condition are pretty harsh.. Mind you, you also can't get married with people who has immediate family overseas.. So we might wait for this visa and die lonely..

Now that make sense.. I originally thought she was already notified. I'm still about 1.5 years apart from your Aunt!! I'm so hoping the Immigration clear all the remaining ASAP.. Thanks for the info.. Cheers, CL

Hi Phillay, Yours will be granted earlier than mine. I estimated roughly about 3 years - could be earlier. *Given the Migration Programme for yearly quota allocation stay constant for the next 3 years. Can you please do me/us a favor to let us know when you finally receive yours in the future? it seems you will be the first person in this thread to get it :) Thank you, Clim

Yeah, you are totally correct. My estimate is being the longest time i have to wait. I hope many others do not meet the criteria or have their circumstances changed! Thanks for the wishes :) and happy for you :)
