    Hi all,

In the spreadsheet there is a lot of people showing as "received" from before November/2017, what do you guys think if everyone that is from before Nov/2017 add a comment like "still waiting Mar/2019" so in that way we all know who is really waiting... otherwise for me just look like some people didn't bother to say what happened, left the country or any other thing could happened and looking at their "waiting" doesn't help us at all to have a real perspective of waiting times... specially in terms of an specific profession!!

People that don't add any comment by the end of March we could just remove from the spreadsheet...

Just an idea, let me know your thoughts...  🙂

I totally agree with you. It also will help to know which members are still active. Only for members that have not had their grants yet.

  2. Woohooo !!!!!

    Finally !!!!
Received the Golden email 10 minutes ago with the Grant.
Couldn't be more happier. Time to go pop my bottle 🙂
Thank you to all members on this forum.
Your messages and word of support has been keeping me sane all this time except for a moment of desperation a few weeks ago.
Will try and stay as active as possible to give whatever input I can.

    Time to partaaayyyy.... 🍻

Good morning. I have a question that confused me for a long time. I’ve seen so many people who applied last year have their nomination and visa granted on the same day. But I haven’t done medical check yet, and my MA and the department website both said that wait until the CO asks you to do the medical check.

I know that the medical check is mandatory. When did you guys do medical check? Before or immediately after lodging the visa application?

Usually most MA will say get the medicals done somewhat half way around the current processing times. Medicals are valid for 12 months si you have to time it that way.

  4. Hey everyone.

Any comments on the below ? I know it clearly states that not clicking the button won’t have any effect on processing time however has anyone had any experience with this?

By clicking on the 'Information Provided' button you acknowledge that the Department may proceed to make a decision on the application. Not clicking the 'Information Provided' button in no way lengthens or overrides the period specified in the correspondence.

Given the average you are close to the end, let me know how it plays out

Yes although not sure if its from the date of change in status or from the day the docs are submitted. Either way that's just a number game. Who knows when it will come through but am very positive this week. I just hope it comes today.

Hi guys, been a silent reader for quite some time and I must admit this forum is great.

I have applied for 186 trt after 2 years of 457 as cook in sunshine coast.

I've applied for 186 2 applicants July 2018 and 28th February the department asked to do the Health Exam and that's it, I did it 2 days ago.

Has anyone been in a similar scenario?
Will this mean that a decision will be made soon?

The status on my immi account went from received to initial assessment.

    Regards

Congrats on the status changing to initial assessment. It is definitely a positive.
What this means is that they have started looking at your application. Once they receive whatever they have requested, they will review this again and the status at that point may or may not change to further assessment. Usually it changes to further assessment if they require some more documentation. Otherwise it will changed to Granted directly, provided all is good.
The time span though is the question here. On this forum the general consensus is that it takes about 34 days on average from initial assessment to decision ready but that's not saying that your application will take the same time. Could be less or more. I am in a similar situation as my application is also under initial assessment since Jan 28.
Good luck to you and hope we receive the much awaited golden email very soon.

    Hi all,

I'm a new user on this forum. It would be great if you guys can help me with the below question. I was searching on Google but I couldn't find the answers.

    - We (me and my wife) have applied 186 in May 2018, provided all documents except my wife's medical examinations because she fells pregnant. We also updated with IMMI about this change (form 1022), pregnancy letter from GP. Will IMMI process our application? Or the application will be put on hold until my wife can provide her medical examinations?

I have been through a similar situation at the time of our 457 application. Our application did start processing and we were asked for Medicals. At this stage we notified the Department of the pregnancy and then everything was put on hold. After giving birth, my wife did the Xray and within 3 weeks of submitting her medicals, we had received the visa.

  8. @Hex @Nemesis @Skani Sincere aplologies  for breaking the rules of the forum. I obviously wasn’t aware of the rule and also was oblivious to the fact that in mentioning the name of a CO and asking about their efficiency I was somehow disrespecting their privacy. It was definitely wrong choice of words there and perhaps a moment of desperation when I sought to ask if someone had a good or bad experience with a particular CO. In no way did I mean to invade their privacy or question the honesty and accuracy with which they do their job. I can assure I certainly wasn’t being arrogant in this case. I have edited the question coz I was unable to find a delete option. Thanx.

I am been waiting from almost 11 months even though my nomination was approved. So tough to say.

One reason of that is because you're visa was lodged after your nomination was approved. It seems like for cases where all of the lodgements (nomination + visa) are done at once, the time gap between the 2 grants isn't as long.
