High Points for 489/190 - South Australia
Renault replied to Jellica's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Hi all, loving the thread and hope one day to meet you on the beach for a beer. Myself and my husband have decided on SA for a state sponsorship (hopefully) we are very early in the process and undecided between the 489 or the 190 489 visa gives us 70 points, 190 gives us 65, we're worried 65 may not be enough for 190 by the time we apply. We have two children aged 15 & 11 (16 & 12 by the time we move, after eldest has done her GCSE's) my husband is an electrician and the main applicant and I'm a critical care nurse although I am not currently working as a nurse and I doubt I will be when we emigrate as I have CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) we have had this looked into by a medical team who feel my condition will not have any affect on our visa application. Very excited to be starting the process and its great reading how far some of you have come and how exciting some of you are moving in the next few months. Welcome to the thread! I would agree to@jetblast . Go for 489. I initially waited for around 6 months for 190 for NSW under stream 2, only to find out steam 2 being scrapped and lost 5 points due to age. I eventually went for 489 and now awaiting my grant. Good luck with your process and see you soon! -

I have uploaded my birth certificate and my agent insisted as well. So I believe it's an important document, if not mandatory. I would suggest it's better to have an additional document then not uploading it and being asked for. You'll save massive time. So I would upload it anyway.

True That! I sometimes get Friday blues, thinking the week is over and still the grant hasn't arrived. Imagine Friday Blues :( . Hope it comes soon! -

Yeah. I really dont get where's the hold up. If there is less demand for the regional visas, the waiting time shouldn't be this much. It's difficult to experience the wait! -

I doubt. As per the immi tracker and mine own case, feel they're still in the 2nd week of Nov. In the immi tracker it hasn't moved beyond 10th Nov (unless people have not updated) -

There is absolutely no consistency in the number of days to get the grant. It's been 103 days now. My agent says ICT/IT profiles are getting grants, but less known occupations like mine is taking more time. Not sure if there's any merit in his point. -

102 days of waiting done [emoji28][emoji853]. Its testing my patience.Jenki75 Did you hear anything yet? Do you have dependents on your account or just a single applicant? -

In the other thread. "Thank you so much @Renault, I lodged on 10/9/18 and CO contacted for police checks for me and family on 10/11/18 which was submitted on 25/11/18 and then I just got my grant yesterday." -
Okay cool. It's been 98 days
-
Congratulations@yamaan..when did you lodge your application & if did CO get in touch with you for more details.
-
Its normally advised to do your medicals before asked by CO. In that way you'll save time and have chance to get direct grant
-
Hi. Don't think it'll be considered. As 887 is a pathway to pr for SC 489 & one of the SC 489 condition being staying in regional area for 2 years. Your request of waiving the condition will not be entertained. I'm not a expert but from what I know they'll not consider your request.

You managed most of it. Visa grant shouldn't be the issue as well. I'm sure that's 6k saved Well done!
