I think same as well. As @mrs_saeed pointed age difference should not be a problem. But one of my friend raised this issue that bigger age difference between spouses might raise a question in CO's mind that despite having big age difference what attracted spouses to marry? Although, as I said earlier, marriage with 10+ years is almost normal in our culture as we have different mindset/reasoning on age difference when it comes to getting into a long-term relationship, marriage.

Anyways, I wish you and all Good Luck!

Thank you so much. Mostly age gap is acceptable when the male is the older one. People tend to judge when its the female being older.

    All the best, thanks again.

I don't know, but there might be two complexities in my case. However I don't consider both of them as a complexity for a reason. Anyways, these could be:

    1) Age difference between me and my wife. Which is over 10 years. CO might raise this question why so much difference? Although it is normal in my family and my wife's family.

    2) I had previous marriage and a child from that marriage. But I never sponsored my ex-wife and my child is with my ex-wife. Also my date of divorce and 2nd marriage date do not overlap. I provided all these details with evidences along with my application (40SP/47SP).

    Thanks.

    Lilly.

I too have quite an age gap, i hope this is not an issue

Simple questions like both our date of births, wedding date, how we manage our financials, who will support my husband when he moves to Australia etc. She also asked my husband some questions relating to my pregnancy maybe to see how well informed he was. She also confirmed some things such as where my husband did his education from and current job etc.

Interview doesn't take more than 15 minutes. She asked very direct questions and did not want extra explanation on anything. So keep it simple and to the point.

Did you both have an interview?

Yes we've provided everything they've asked for. Now it's just the waiting game.

I have to travel in the next two weeks. Not sure if it'll come by then. From what I can see in these posts, its taken most people from Pakistan almost one year before getting the visa

Fingers crossed and hoping for the best though.

Have you had an interview call yet?

All the best! I feel for you.

Wow you have been waiting quite a while, at least you have been together though. Interesting to see the sponsor getting the interview call, most I've seen its the applicant. Was your case complicated at all? ( because of the long wait?

Mate it is going to be pretty much 20 months now. I told them already about the nature of my job where i can't get leave when i want. It is a busiest place where getting one's leave does not easily approve. I keep record of the maintenance of my family expenses which i have had been sent them quite a few times. I believe not every one can get good opportunity to visit thier families who are victim of long waiting time. Allah has said twice in surah nashra "After every hardship there is an ease" where Allah ask to prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to work with patience in every hardship. And i have a firm belief in this. There will be inshaa allah good reward for our such patient. Inshaa allah

If your full-time or part-time you are entitled to paid leave every year? And if your hired on a casual basis you can have leave when you want, because your casual?

    Hi All,

Allhamdulillah my wife got her visa today.

    We lodged online from Pakistan.

    DOL: 20 January 2018

    DOI: None

    DOG: 06 November 2018

We did not receive any generic email or interview. Direct grant email with the grace of God.

I would recommend everyone to keep uploading documents and evidence to your immi account. Based on our experience, it speeds up the process.

Thank you everyone for the wishes and prayers. We couldn't be more happier.

This forum has been really helpful. I hope everyone waiting gets their grants soon.

    Wow, congratulations.

While waiting for my 309 visa, i applied for my parents visit visa thinking they can go with me to drop me off. They got 1 year visit visa today with multiple entries. They have not been to Australia before. Should i apply for visit visa for myself as well as embassy seems generous these days regarding visit visas.

    Wow thats great news! Congratulations.

Well I reckon don't apply tourist visa. My wife's tourist visa was denied earlier this month despite having the substantive and extensive documentation. She has a great bounty to go back and the biggest one is her Govt job as a Doctor. So, you will end up wasting time and money as the decision I had was nothing but a pile of bizarre reasons.

I dont understand why they dont give visitor visa's because why would you overstay if you have applied for 309, you have to leave the country to find out if its approved. I dont hold much hope for my husbands visitor visa then he dosn't even have a job to go back to.

    ^This.

While the legislation says they can't cap Partner visas, they do have a "planning level" of ~47K visas per year which they won't exceed. This level was enough up until a few years ago but now there's way more than 50K applications in a year so inevitably many of them won't be finalised within 12 months. They modified the legislation in 2016 to ditch the first-come-first-served basis for this visa and now they prioritise whatever applications they want, which basically means lower risk countries get preference now.

Hang in there, everyone. Unfortunately this is one of those situations in life where one can't do much, if anything at all.

Its so tuff i know i have a long wait ahead( it hasn't even been a month yet since we applied) but we have been apart since March 2018. And its hard watching my husband having to live with his parent's, they dont make everyday easy for him.
