Lodged 20 June 2018.
What kind of email is it? I got an email in Nov 2020 requesting for copies of passport but nothing more
It is a letter sent by email - Queue date assigned. You lodged your application a month before us, so I would have thought you would have heard by now.
-
You will get an email. When did you lodge your application?

Does anyone have an idea when immigration department give queue date? I have lodged application in July 2018 and received email today with a queue date of 7 May 2021. Does that my application is assessed and I will be asked to provide proofs/apply for AOS? Or they have just started looking into my application?
Hi PCP, What day in July 2018 was your application lodged? We lodged ours 18th July 2018 but haven’t heard anything yet.

Only one that’s changed for processing that I can see is for 804 and 103 - changed from Sept 2010 to Oct 2010. 173,143, 884 and 864 still on May 2016?
The queue assessment date has moved to Jul 2018 from June but that’s only to give a queue date, which at the moment seems to be around 3 years later than application date. . It has no effect on the actual movement towards current processing / granting of visas.
It’s nice to know they are checking applications submitted July 18 and giving a queue date. I realise there is still a long, long way to go.
Just hoping we’ve dotted all our I’s and crossed all out T’s.

Your bullet point are correct but the dates are wrong. It’s June 2018. Anyone before so up to and including 31/5/2018 queue date is application date. Anyone after so 1st June 2018 onwards will have their application assessed and given a queue date. My parents applied 28/6/2018 and just got a queue date of 29/4/21.
Our application date is 18/07/2018 so, hopefully, may be given a queue date soon. Little things.......

Just to update my timeline.
We were offshore and have to make the first entry by July 2021. Luckily, we've arrived Sydney to validate our visa yesterday morning (18 Jan). The process to the quantine took a lot of steps, but very smooth. That’s great news. Congratulations! So lucky you didn’t get bumped off your flight. I bet you can’t quite believe you’ve done it!

It must have changed then as 100% the attendance allowance is totally different. You have to be state pension age to apply for it but it’s completely separate. There is no connection between that payment and the state pension payment and they are credited separately with their own reference.
I work for DWP and Attendance Allowance is a completely different benefit to State Pension but the payments can be combined, so they are made as one payment. Newer claims tend to be paid separately though.

Hi
I'm struggling to find a flight UK to Sydney (or Spain to Sydney), although I can see some Qatar flights that transit Adelaide or Perth.
Does anyone know if you can transit through these internal airports?
Cheers
Hi, you must quarantine in the city you arrive in for 14 days, even if you plan to travel elsewhere in Australia.

I've just checked the calculator. It's not showing my lodgement date yet but if I put in 18 June 2018 there are 34770 in the queue. Another 6 years wait.

I've created a more detailed report (143's only) using the same data. It shows the number lodged each day and a cumulative total so you can see how many are in the queue ahead of you. Obviously this will change every time a more recent currently processing date pops up so I will update and upload a new version as and when I can. Let me know if you see any typo's or errors.

Thanks so much for your time and effort producing this list. I was getting excited when the queue seemed to be moving quickly recently . Now looking at the queue ahead of us it looks like another 5 1/2 years. My husband and I will continue to look forward to our annual trips to WA and keep dreaming we will be there permanently in a few years.

Hello everyone!
This is my first post on this forum, but I am expecting to become a regular member here, exchanging information and complaining about the slow process, now that I have posted the 143 application last month.
I have noted some have received their acknowledgement letter within 2 days (e.g. Bev50Bradley), while others have had to wait 7 to 8 months to receive the acknowledgement letter (e.g. Sadge).
Can I ask how long is it taking these days for the acknowledgement to come through? What should be the expectation?
Thank you.
Hi, They acknowledged our 143 application early Aug 18 which was a couple of weeks after they received it. The acknowledgement was by email.

My son is a Air conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic in WA. He applied for a partner visa 4 years ago rather than a skilled visa which was straightforward. He then went to TAFE (college) in Perth to get his skills assessed. From that assessment he ended up doing a fast track level 4 qualification on day release over 12 months while working under supervision for an employer. (Not much supervision)! He then got his Level 4 certificate and his restricted electrical licence. Both are needed to get your Refrigeration & Air Conditioning licence in WA. He did have C&G level 2 and NVQs from the UK but they counted for nothing.

As of 30 th April this year (2018 ) there were 46745 contributory parent applicants in queue. Given that there’s a maximum of just over 7100 per year granted but recent years have only granted approx 6200 visas Im afraid that May 2018 application could potentially end up taking 6-7 years!
Hi Linda,
Are the queue figures only provided yearly? It would be really interesting to know the current figure.

Actually, on looking at the chart again it may explain why July 2015 applicants haven’t been contacted much. The year end for visas is end June. The year ending June 2015 shows a huge jump in applications and the queue doubled! That may be causing the delay perhaps??
i think this is where the 5/6 year wait possibly kicks in - from June 2015 onwards but I really do hope not !!
Thanks for those figures. They are awful! Especially for us newbies to the waiting room!!

You also need to be aware of the lengthening times for these visas - an application now is probably looking at over 5-6 years wait and the possibility of problems arising affecting the medicals. Im in a similar age group so have my own doubts even though my application was in June 2017 when processing times were allegedly around 2 years!
2014 applicants are currently waiting well over 3 years and there are currently around 50000 on the wait list for CPV visas.
Sorry Im not being pessimistic just realistic! If you do decide to go ahead its best to get the application in ASAP as further delays also run the risk of the visa charges increasing. Good luck!
Hi Linda,
50,000 is a massive amount on the wait list. Where did you find this figure?

Hi Forum members,
Thanks for all your information so far - I'm really grateful.
I'm having an absolute nightmare understanding one section of the 47PA form:
Part H – Members of the family unit aged 18 years or over (Each member of the family unit aged 18 years or over listed below,
whether they are migrating or not, must also complete a form 47A Details of child or other dependent family member aged 18 years or over.)1) So, I have a sister living in my parent's country. She is married and her life is generally independent from ours.
Should the sentence "child or other dependent family member" be interpreted as " [child] and [other-dependent] " or " [child and other]-dependent".So, basically should we as children need to fill this section up even if we are not dependent on our parents just because we are the members of the same family ?
If not, the only section to mention our relationship is in: Part J – Details of other family members.
2) Here, should my father and mother both have our names listed in their respective sections?Sorry for this complicatedly phrased question.
Hi,
The definition of the Family Unit is limited to only partners and dependent children of the main applicant.
Hope that helps.

Hi MillieB,
Wow! That's great. Could you kindly tell me how long after you mailed the application did you get the news of progress ?
Thanks so much!!!!
The application was posted and it was received at PVC on 18 July 18. They didn't acknowledge it until 7 August 18.

Wow! That's not pleasant reading. If there's 50k in the queue and they're only granting 6218 a year - that's 8 years. (Not counting drop outs). I wish I'd found Pomsinoz earlier with all this useful information. We definitely would have applied much earlier.
-
Does anyone know how many are in the 143 queue and how many applications they process each year? Thanks

My most important concern is:
Will I get any acknowledgement / letter / email saying the 143 application is accepted by PVC so that I can complete my wait in India and get them back here after that - how would I know that I have applied successfully ? How long to wait offshore? Thanks very much!
Hi Vika,
I can't answer anymore of your queries but I have just got an email saying my 143 Visa application has been received. I'm now expecting a very long wait!
-
Hi Tulip1,
I've got a reply back from PVC. They've said they are currently registering applications received up to 28 June 2018. I bet you are glad you put your application in when you did. We really regret not doing it much earlier. Thanks for taking time to reply.

Hi, Applicants prior to June 18 are given their lodgement date as their queue date. I assume they will be processed in queue date order and ignore the 3 year gap. Going forward Immi will start using queue dates rather than lodgement dates. Will that be so processing wait times don’t seem as long, even though they are?
