    Interview and TEST

i have a quick question regarding the Citizenship test. Whoever have completed the exam will be able to help me with this.

Do you get same citizenship test questions from the IMMI sample test or you will get more than that? Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

You can download Australian citizenship test on app store easily. There is heaps of app available that covers all the questions. And real citizenship test question is pretty standard and easy. I got 💯 % correct after practicing those quiz and questions in app.

    good luck !

    Hello All -

I just opened my immi account and created my citizenship application along with details of my kids. Still need to upload the documents. Can you please give me some guidance on how I can include my husband in the application? We are all eligible to apply now but the application only asked for only the children's' details. We would all like to apply together but I do not see any instructions or guidance on how to do that. Does my husband need a create a new application under my immi account and in that case how do we link his application to mine?

Really appreciate some guidance from folks here who have already gone through this process. It sounds simple but seems I am stuck and cannot figure out what to do.

    Thank you and stay safe.

    Lin

    Hi Lin,

Any individual over 16 years old need to apply separately. Below 16 years can apply with any parents. Your husband can apply a new application through same immi account. In some stage of your application it will ask your husband TRN and your TRN with his application so that it merges together prior to sit for citizenship test and interview and citizenship ceremony together with whole family.

    -your apply with kids

    -husband apply alone

    Hope it helps

Hi I am new here and eligible for citizenship next month.

can anyone suggest me the documents I need to submit for my citizenship please.

i got my pr from 457.

    thanks in advance🙂

Once you start application, you need to continue filling the form up. The application portal will guide you and tell you what documents you need to submit. You don’t have to guess anything or asking others advice on it. The immigration department will ask the relevant documents according to your circumstances. In general it is pretty simple and based on id check and security check.

    good luck !

    Hi everyone,

Not too sure if there are any New Zealander applying the Australian citizenship?

The  requirement for residence time on the website asking for a centerlink statement to say when you start to live in Au.

But when I went to centrelink asking for this statement and they said this is no more necessary and didn't issue me one.

But online application still have one section of document required.

Is there anyone similar situation and can help me with some clue?

    Thanks

Why don’t you submit your arrival stamp on passport the day you first arrived Australia?

    Hi Guys,

    I have two questions:

1- Has anyone been invited for the citizenship test lately?

2- My son was born last month - me and my wife are permanent residents, therefore he is Australian, however I would like to know if we have to include his details in our application? Does anyone know?

    Thanks!

I think your application has been submitted already so you can’t technically edit or change the application number. If you haven’t submitted your citizenship application yet you can include his details as an applicant. Hence Kids will receive citizenship certificate with parents.

But you can apply for your kids “Evidence of citizenship” application. It takes a week to receive the citizenship certificate.

    Hi ,

Confussion on eligibility of citizen ship.

Just looking for a bit of help about application of citizenship.

I came to Australia in May 2015 on 457 and got my PR in May 2019. so I was in Australia from last 5 years with out any major breaks apart from few vacations. So I got the eligibility to apply for citizen ship.

I have a kid of age 3 years(who also has PR) was born in India and travelled to Australia during his 8th month. So he stayed in Australia for 1.4 years and went back to India when he was 2.1 years.

From last 1 year he was in India, while applying for citizen ship I saw kids below 12 years don't require to meet the criteria of staying 4 years in Australia.  So I am thinking to lodge my citizen ship application this week. Can I lodge my kids application along with me ? or I need to lodge my individual application?

I searched immigration site and did not understood clearly. So if some one clarifies here, could be really helpful.

    Thanks

    Suren.

    Hi Suren,

All kids u16 can apply citizenship with the any of parents who meet the eligibility. They don’t need to apply separately. During your application process you will be asked to include your kids

Which state?  I assume you need to apply direct for it. Surely the info is on line about application and process.

    Hi Rammygirl,

    Thanks for your reply.

I already applied and it’s approved. What i need to know is when the money will appear in bank account. It says at the slab stage they will transfer the money but it passes the slab stage 2/3 weeks ago but still they did not pay me.

  11. Hi,

I am a first home owner. My new home is under construction. Now home is at Roof stage. But till now I haven’t received the $10k from Government. Do anyone know when i will receive it. Do i need to contact to anyone/authorities/government to let it get processed. Previously the FHOG was approved through my bank who i am with the loan. I also informed my bank where my new home construction stands. I also have the progress report in hand from builders.

just to know when will i get the $10 grant.

Any advice/ recommendation/comments will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Guys,

I just received an email from Home affairs VIC asking if I'm interested in virtual citizenship ceremony. I replied to them with yes.

Hopefully they will organise a ceremony within next few days.

    Applied: Nov 2017

    Test: Oct 2018

    Approved: Oct 2019

Sorry but it’s really funny to see it took 1 year each action being taken such got test after 1 year, approved after 1 year of test date but luckily did not take another 1 year to have ceremony and take only 7 months. Did you travel overseas a lot since you applied? It’s a history of a victim, how careless they were to you. I feel sad for you bro. Good to see it’s ending eventually. Good luck !

    Hi everyone,

I emailed asking for a virtual ceremony and received an auto-reply shortly after emailing. Just a short while ago (on a Sunday🤔)received an email offering me a virtual ceremony on Wed 29/4.
The email states that only I can be visible in the video while others may be outside the view of the camera.
I have a question to ask, my children are listed as dependents on my application. Will they be required to take the oath as well or only me(both below 16yrs)?

Wish me luck...it’s been a long journey getting here.

    Location: Adelaide, SA.

You don’t need your kids inside the video to the Oath as they are U16. Kids will receive their citizenship certificate with you by AU post.

It's been 4 months since my interview and test, and my citizenship application is still pending.

I understand that there may have been delays caused by Covid-19 outbreak but I feel that my citizenship approval has been adversely impacted by this delay.

Considering that I am a single applicant with a very transparent life history, NO spouse/children or travel history during my 4-year residence in Australia, and a citizenship test passed with 100% score, I cannot see why others are being approved hours after their test took place, and my case approval is taking so long.

    Sad reacts only please.

Did you have any traffic offences or any fine pending or court hearing on any other offences at the time of interview? Some people have similar situation and get stuck and taken time to get processed. If not may be only covid-19 causing your application getting delayed. But surely it will be soon. Best wishes

Hi Kaz, can you please guide me regarding the form 1195 as how did you submit your newborn photo as the requirement says needs to be identity declared, as who has done this for your child, kindly advise

    Hi friend,

I took my newborn to au post and they will take your kids photos. And you need form 1195 filled and a photo to be taken to regular GP who knows your family more than 1 year. My gp done for us.

Yes, you can apply for your newborn “Evidence of citizenship” you need birth certificate for newborn, you and your partner passport, PR grant letter, etc. it will be a new application though for newborn

Hi Guys I am back on the forum with a questions, we are applying for our citizenship in May this year, we have a new born this month 👶 and I want to know me and my partner are permanent residents and want to know if bub is eligible for Australian Passport or should he wait with us to get passport. Kindly advise.

You need to apply for your newborn “Evidence of citizenship” once baby’s birth certificate arrive. You have to apply this separately. I had a baby recently and i did it

Hi I need a help from you but my question is not relate to above answer.

I've got married in Australia I then changed my last name into married name. Do I need to provide change of name certificate with my Citizenship application or  Australian marriage certificate is sufficient???

    Hi,

i guess you need to submit the revised birth Registration & birth certificate. And you need to update all the official legal details as well as identity documents though i am not sure about it 100%. As it creates complex situation to any decision maker.
or other side leave it for now, let the citizenship application get processed and update it afterwards.

Just a quick question in response to a post that I read here some time back (I haven't been able to relocate that post since). In cases where children under 16 are included in one parent's citizenship application, but the other parent is not applying (a choice because that parent's country of origin does not allow for dual citizenship), is the non-applying parent required to provide a letter of consent? And if so, does anyone have a handy template?

    Cheers

Yes you need your partners consent to include kids. It is a basic consent letter. You can write the details of the kids and say “i give consent to my partner to include my kids to my partner’s citizenship application” - Simple

just include your partner’s details as well on statutory declarations at Justice of peace.

Your child is automatically a citizen if they were born in Australia and you were PR.

You have to apply for evidence of citizenship for the passport application.  It is automatic as they are a citizen from birth, it takes a couple of weeks normally.

Hi, with your advice I applied for the evidence of citizenship yesterday 3pm for my son and I received the approval Letter this morning 9:37am. Status : Finalised. How quick they were on it. Wao. They already sent the citizenship certificate by aupost.

Thanks for your good advice. Thank you Rammygirl.

  23. Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me what i need:

my second child born before we become citizen of Australia. So second child doesn’t have any citizenship certificate because we couldn’t include him at the time of our citizenship application due to newly born baby.

Now after becoming citizen we are applying for passport of this second child with us. Is second child automatically citizen or i have to apply for the evidence of citizenship?

    Fact to consider:

    Citizenship application 26/09/2019

    baby born 28/12/2019

    Citizenship 04/03/2020.
