  1. Do you think their is a chance I won’t even get an invite with 65 points ??
  2. Ok thanks, I have 65 points and I’m applying for QLD . Does this normally happen after an invitational round ?

  4. I’m a type 1 diabetic and I’ve just lodged my EOI last week. I’ve done lots of research into the medical and diabetes as technically you are gambling the cost of the visa to potentially be turned down at the end. I contacted a medical professional based in Australia called Dr Martha Baz. She gave me a report indicating if I am likely to pass....which I was. She will also be part of my application process by providing detailed reports. I think the idea is to provide as much information at the start e.g specialist consultant reports etc. She calculated my treatment cost, which was roughly $3000 per year and the limit is $40000 over 5 years Providing you have no major complications I don’t think it’s an issue.
  5. Hi, I am a type 1 diabetic currently in the process of applying for PR visa. I have points and skills assessment done, now at the stage of risking thousands of pound on the visa. The reason I say risking is that I have type 1 diabetes and I'm worried for what ever reason I don't get though. I have been in touch with Dr Baz who think I am more likely to pass than fail, however she did indicate every medical is individual and they don't have set guidelines. By this she means just because other diabetics have passed, its not a cast iron guarantee . Does anyone have a sample of a specialist report or what exactly goes in it? Are there any diabetics that passed and able to give me any advice? I have had type 1 for 40 years- diagnosis aged 1, I have an extremely good Hb1ac which is not far off a non diabetics. I have had some minor retinopathy surgery via laser in 2003, but everything is fine since, other than that I am fit and well.
  6. Hi, I am about to submit my PR application, however in a bit concerned as I’m a type 1 diabetic. I have decent control , but have had the condition for 40 years (I’m 41). I’ve read the previous posts and looked up the governments own website and from what I understand as long as my condition doesn’t cost above $40000? Is that a year or lifetime ? Has anyone got any experience how much a diabetic costs per year? Many posts I’ve read mention a doctor - Dr Martha Baz . Do you think it’s worth contacting her for advice ? Does anybody know cost involved? She also has many website and email addresses but done are no longer active. Has anyone recently contacted her? Thsnks
