I'm sorry to hear that. I thought these thing would happen to 187, not 186. In my opinion they put all of the restaurant managers on the side and then wait for a really long time, then refused a bunch. A lot of restaurant managers (187) have been refused last week with the same assumptions: genuine, without requesting more documents even though we wait for a really long time (2 years), and all the documents in the checklist have been provided but they want something else not in the checklist.

Yes! I feel like they get a note on our visa application with “ refuse this visa, no matter how”.

We actually submitted a letter as well with our application why my boss did not have time to manage the business because he bought some other businesses and did not have the time anymore. This was information we provided to support the genuine need and this was not on the checklist.

it is very easy to refuse nominations if they say there is missing information that is not on any list! In that case they should at least ask for it.

@Suusz That really sucks and does sound like a lame excuse to me, what did they expect that the role would be immediately replaced - maybe in an ideal world.

Sorry to hear that. Have you spoken with your MA, do you have options here? Could you lodge another, using the same nomination or possibly motivate this existing one with the AAT?

I do have options. One of them is to apply through TRT and the other one is to appeal the decision. However with the waiting time I experienced now I feel uncomfortable with such long waits (appeal can take about 2 years again). In business this is tricky and who knows maybe the restaurant gets sold one day??

The other thing is, why should I pay so much money again if they refuse based on really unfair reasons. I can easily win the appeal, but then they wont let me speak for 2 years. And when I win this argument what is next? They have the right to refuse based on their perception, not facts! So it feels so insecure to move forward again.

  3. Hi all,

after 22 months I got some bad news. Refused nomination.

the reason does not make sense at all and its totally unexpected. They refused because the previous sponsored restaurant manager left quickly after getting his PR and after that I was not sponsored until about 8 months later. Because of this gap they say there is no need for a restaurant manager. This is a big mistake because in those 8 months someone internally took over the role, however, unsuccessfuly and so they advertised later on the role and took me in. Unfortunately they did not ask to explain this situation and refused straight away (well after 22 months ). And we never expected that this was a problem anyway? Isnt it the point to actually first try to give the role to residents/australians?

I am a genuine applicant and this is such a stupid reason. When i saw refusals on here I always thought there must be something dodgy about their application and it would never happen to me.

Advice: How genuine your application is, dont take for granted that you get your PR. Especially in DE. I believe if they want to refuse it, they will find a way. Even tho this reason is stupid, the current system doesnt allow you to comment until 2/3 years later. Its unfair, but within the law so nothing I can do about it.

    Hi all,

Just received an email from my MA a few minutes ago saying the nomination has been approved!!! If someone can update the spreadsheet please 🙂

Can't believe it happens that fast !!

I ll update once my Visa is granted !

It may have been pretty fast compare to others that have been waiting for a while but I feel over the moon right now 🤩

Keep being positive everyone it could be you anytime !

Complaining yesterday about a 3 month wait and now everyone needs to be positive 😂

    Hi Guys,

    Hope everyone is well.

Silent reader here. I just have a quick question. I kind of sense that there have been more approvals on the TRT nowadays. I'm currently waiting for my DE visa, been waiting for the nomination approval for 15 months now. Very frustrated. As my MA never mentioned about the grandfathering system, which supposedly I'm qualified to lodge TRT just 2 months after i lodged the DE, Would it make sense/allowed to submit another nomination (TRT) while waiting for the DE?

    Thank you for any replies.

Yes, but it costs a lot of money. It does look like they dont process DE applicants from removed occupations anymore.

    Hello everyone!

We applied for our visa (DE stream, onshore) on 2 March 2018. At this point our status is still Received and we have received no updates at all. Full details in my signature (please may we be added to the spreadsheet?)

Our police certificates remain valid until November 2019 (this is the second batch that we have applied for), but our medicals expired on 21st March. I have asked our MA if we .should re-do our medicals and they were 50/50. We are going overseas in early May for a few weeks so might do this when we get back.

I understand we just have to wait, I'm trying to limit obsessively checking our immi account! We have lived here for 5 years now and just keeping my fingers crossed for our golden email asap!

I have waited since AUG 2017, my medicals did expire almost 1 year ago but my MA said it is up to the case officer to request a new one or not. Without a new request I dont think you can even do a new one?

We go on holidays in a month as well and if they request it while we are away we just have to do it from Europe. I am praying we get news before because this holiday was meant to be our celebration trip 🤭

I did not receive this email either, but I dont think anyone that has waited over a year received this email. However even people without this email got granted over the last few weeks so its not hopeless!

Regarding English testh English test is valid for 3years at the time of visa application That means if you applied with less then 3years old English test you don’t need to give English test at the time of decision if it’s become more then 3years or 4years doesn’t matter , I just read this news on MA page he said home affairs website just upload this news on their pages  I don’t have link but I have a screenshot of this

Yes that makes sense as well. Our English should only improve the longer we stay here 🧐

I have read that IELTS is valid for 2 years - but worth double checking.

It would need to be valid from when CO opens file - but this would be at their discretion.

You will need to apply for renewal of your passport as recommended you have 6 month validity - you can update the application with your new passport details.

@sydneyishukAnd also @Hex are you sure its valid from when CO open the file? My agent told me its from the moment you submit your application. I did my IELTS 4 years ago and when I asked my MA to redo it she told me its unnecessary as it was valid when I applied...

Good to see some people who received the emails from Immi about applications being allocated to a Decision Maker are resulting in the applications being processed.

That depends if you received the email 😝😝 I am happy some applications have been processed that did not get the email. That gives every one of us here some hope 🙏

  10. Hi all,  I have a question.

I am going to Europe in 6 weeks for a 6 weeks trip. I was wondering if they request any medical update while being overseas, would it be possible to do this overseas? BUPA is an international company right?

I cancelled my holidays last year because of the extended waiting time, but don’t want to do this again. However it makes me feel uncomfortable that they could request for additional information while I am gone.

Immi is very slow these days I don’t know what’s going on

Maybe they are extra fast? I honestly did not even know about this forum until I past like 8 months wait or so and I was looking for answers. There will be heaps of people getting approvals without posting it on here 😉 I assume they will try to approve as many as possible within the next month. The same happened last federal election.

Looks like immi does work on Saturday. My application status is updated to "initial assessment" on the Saturday. The "Evidence of English language ability" of my partner (secondary applicant) was requested by the processing office: NSW PESE.

We will choose to pay the second instalment of the visa application charge instead of taking the exams. Now my question is how to inform the immi about our choice? Can I attach a pdf with the statement of our choice...?

The other question: in my application home page, it mentioned "by clicking on 'Information Provided' button...". I can't find where the button is. Anyone can help?

    Thank you!

====== from the application home page ======

    Important information

This application requires additional supporting documentation. Please check correspondence and attach the requested documents.

By clicking on the 'Information Provided' button you acknowledge that the Department may proceed to make a decision on the application. Not clicking the 'Information Provided' button in no way lengthens or overrides the period specified in the correspondence.

Sorry i dont have the answer to your question, but I do have a question for you.

Did you receive this famous email everyone is talking about this week?

Oh I just see that you only applied 3 weeks ago is that correct?

  13. Only people that have applied in the last like 8 months or so received this email. I wouldnt be surprised if they will only process files now that are submitted more recently so that way it looks like they are getting on top of the processing times. After the elections they might go back onto old files again, if there is still space left for their quotas. Lets see in the next few days/weeks if all grants are the newer applicants vs. older ones. I hope I am wrong! But I think we are in the middle of a little political trick so I don’t expect anything until the election is over.

Thank you very much. I hope immi will accept ours as well. Joint account is never in our mindset. I’m really curious that how come joint is useful in daily life? What’s wrong with each person having his or her own bank account and credit card?

Yeh when we opened it we did not really find it needed as well, but now it helps for groceries etc. but every couple organises their finances differently and I am sure that they will understand that. Its probably just some general guidelines on what you can provide. Im sure there are other ways to prove your relationship, wouldn’t worry about it.

Thank you. Did immi accept that your document was sufficient? I have proof of any other aspects in the checklist, apart from the financial part.

Our defacto visa was approved but we did also have a joint bank account and lease. So not sure  if without that it was sufficient enough.

I didn't receive any email fro. Immi august 2018

A lot of people that waited a bit longer have not received the email. I hope it is just a timeframe that they chose to send the email to, because a lot of applicants dont attach their police check and medical right away and maybe the department wants to hurry up the process and make sure its all done. My coworker received the email and she literally submitted her visa this week. Because its an automatic email people that already submitted police check and health assessment will receive it too.

It would be interesting to see if we get any grands on here from people soon that have not received the email. Hopes up 🙏🙏😬

Thank you very much. I am so worried because I saw articles on the internet that financial commitments are the most important aspect. And we don’t write emails to each other. Normally we just send iMessages or do FaceTime (both don’t show on telephone bills).

For my partner visa we send a whole document of photos together plus dates and occasions next to it. Like a picture of us together every 2/3 months. Also letters of friends/family acknowledging the relationship and for example flight tickets if you have been on holidays together?
