I cant believe how many people applied on 28/02/2018!
something to do with taking occupations off the skills list in March or just a coincidence?

Sick leave. Am working overtime. Who else are working. Everthing about my job. 20 mins interview.and in the end asked me about my bank statement where I get paid.Totally grilled everyone. Sad news this morning - my nomination was refused
I'm awaiting a meeting with my MA to find out the reason why - once I know I will share it on here.
My application was more complicated than most and I sort of had this in the back of my mind this could happen but hey life goes on. I wasn't actually as upset as I thought I would have been.Still currently on my 457 so no need to make any urgent decisions at the moment however at first thought - I don't think I will appeal. I see it can take another 12-18 months for your appeal to be heard and to be honest I don't think I can put our life on hold for that amount of time again. My wife wants to start a family and I don't feel comfortable doing that whilst sitting on a bridging visa awaiting the possible outcome - no matter how strong my case may be.
So it looks like my journey in Australia has come to an end - I have so many great memories here and I wouldn't change them for the world. I believe in life, things that are meant to be are meant to be and I guess its just our destiny to be back home. Although they wont say it, both my Wife and my parents will be over the moon I bet - they really struggled with the thought of us having a family out here alone.
Good luck to everyone on here - the forum has helped me through the process and its an awesome community that you all should be proud of.I probably will take a step back from the forum now and I doubt I will post much more - just need to start planning the move back to the UK. My company has offices back home so I'm currently looking into an internal transfer.
Farewell and God Bless
Great mindset and I 100% agree! At least you can move on now!:) this is what is meant to be for you and at least you can start a family with having yours around you, which is something most of us have to give up. So enjoy!!!

Hi all, a question to everyone that has had a inspection of immigration inside their business. Please share with me how this could work. I believe we do everything right, just want to be prepared.
-How do they come in and what do they ask for?
- What proof are they looking for on the spot?
I just want to make sure everything is ready in case they will come and also in case I am not there if anyone would come.

Hi all,
immigration comes yesterday to the company to check the file and may something else.
in you opinion is this a bad sign?
and how long gonna take to have some news?
thanks so much
we are preatty concerne
I have seen that happen more often on this forum. Sometimes they just want to check some things like if its still open, if you really work there and if it meets the requirements. If its all good then no worries ! Looks like something could happen soon for you!

My husband sand an email to immigration and they says the same to us
decidion maker allocated
was November 2018 and we are still waiting
Hi Tiziana,
Do I remember it right and were you planning to leave? And are you still planning to?
I am waiting almost as long as you and honestly losing hope every month again. It is hard to stay positive!
are you or your migration agent doing anything? Like follow up email or something?
Mine says just to wait as we waste their resources by contacting them

Good morning Australia! Long time silent reader. I received the golden email last night! It was a long and anxious journey but we managed to push through! Thought it was a deadend but never gave up hope. sending out the positive vibes out there! We can all do this!
Why a Dead end if you only waited 10 months after your visa application?? Or was it 2017 instead of 2018?

It is awesome for these guys getting fast processed.
I wonder if the department is sometimes processing newer applications first just to show-off good statistic and improvement on the general processing time.
Shamefully old application would then be processed behind in the queue and at such a pace than less than 10% of them are finalised each month, keeping the processing time stats down for the 90% application processed figure.
Lets hope that they process the files within two months so they can pick up another couple of 2017 files without screwing up their numbers!
It is really really annoying that there is no indication how long the remaining 10% can take. I wish there was at least a deadline for them, for any file!

Hi All, greetings from WA.
I stumbled across this forum literally a week ago, when i was unsure what nomination approved meant, and wanted to see if i could grasp the time between nomination granted and visa approved. Needless to say there was no straight answer like most things visa related the results varied massively.
The info was great so thanks to all for sharing their journeys. Some heart warming.
I thought i would share my status not out of a bragging perspective but to hopefully give some light to those applicants before or around my timelines as can see how much this process means to some individuals.
(Trying to follow the format i have evidenced)
Occupation - Recruitment consultant
State - WA
Birth Country - UK
Stream 457 - 186 TRT
Number of applicants - 4
Visa and nomination applied 28/8/18
Nomination approved 12/02/19
Visa Granted 19/2/19
We feel blessed to have received it in the timeframe we did, as our MA was forecasting Jan 2020, the biggest positive for us is the opportunity to apply for child care subsidy and no more school fees its been a difficult few years with these added expenses under the 457.
Wish everyone in process the best and god willing you receive the positive response you each deserve.
Thanks again for the info over the last week.
Wouwwww that is so fast and so lucky! You applied more than a year after me and my file is still in the lost pile.
Enjoy PR Life

Guys! It HAPPENED! I just got my PR granted. Nearly 20 months of waiting. It really hasn't sunk in yet.
This has been BY FAR the most expensive, stressful, rollercoaster journey of my life. My case was quite complicated and there were many hurdles but I did it! If any of you need an MA i can't recommend Carmen & Associates enough. They have always gone above and beyond for me and were just excellent.
I have spent the last hour on calls to friends and family and I cannot wait to celebrate with everyone. NO work has been done since 3.30
Thanks to everyone on this forum for all of your support, advice and laughs over the many many months. Just know- if you have a complicated case, small business turnover and high-risk occupation and been waiting FOREVER-- there is hope!
Here's hoping the 2-year-old bottle of Dom Perignon has aged well!
Thanks again guys and all the best! x
O my god that is great news!! I have been following your case and you were just on the edge of applying for a partner visa if you did not get it this next 10 days right?? Congrats! Enjoy the wine. And thanks, you gave me some hope!

Hi all,
I remind you that my nomination got approved in 5.5 months (28th August - 12th February) and:
- We are a very small company (3 people)
- I am the first and only immigrant employee
- We do not have an MA
- My occupation is on the STOL
This forum is a very small percentage of the tens of thousands of applications they receive.
So even though we may see trends on here, they may not even exist!
STAY POSITIVE!
Very easy to stay positive if you are getting a approval within 6 months while some of us wait for more than 18

yes, it is on the STOL.
That in combination with company size as you read in the post above, can make the processing time increase, plus all kind of other factors.

Hi guys, been seeing people mentioning "high risk positions", is there a list for such?
Have not seen contract administrator approved for a while, I have been waiting for a relatively long time myself (details in my signature) and started to get frustrated, is this position considered as high risk?
Is it on the STOL?

Hi guys, i have applied for a 186 DE visa. I have taken unpaid annual leave both before and after applying. My boss authorised my unpaid annual leave each time. Im just wondering if the unpaid annual leave will compromise the final result of my application? Has anyone gone through anything similar?
It shouldn’t impact because a DE application is in reality unrelated to your 457 visa (if you have one) . Just if you take months of unpaid leave they could argue if your position is actually needed.

I wasn t aware about the relevant study. Are you sure it counts for the three years work exp? Do you have a kind of diploma?
Rick
As far as I know if you have a highly related study, you need only 1 year. If you have a related study 2 years and without a related study 3 years. for example my bachelor is sport management and my occupation restaurant management, which is related but not highly, so 2 years needed.

Thanks Suusz, were you working as Restt. Manager even before applying for 457/ DE ?
Yes a couple years before but mostly part time!

Hi guys as far as I know for 186DE you need 3 years of work experience, let s say you lodge your visa after 1.5 year of 457 (and before you have been worked with your boss for another 6 months) so total 2 years, then you need to prove you had another 1 year experience (reference letter, payslip, contract...can be used to prove that). It is important that your full 3 years shold be completed BEFORE you lodge the visa, the waiting time doens t count
Rick
Yes I applied for a DE visa with 2 years fulltime experience and a relevant study (if not you need 3 years) . Within the 2 years there was 1.5 years fulltime plus a year parttime which counts for half of the time amount (so 0.5 years experience)

Hi all!
my MA finally send an email to immigration last week as I have passed the 18 months. However we got kind of a standard reply, but want to share it anyway.
Processing time are an indication of how long it takes to process 75% of applications and 90%. Individually cases might vary because of:
- TRT vs. DE
- Occupation ( If its on the Medium term list or not)
- Company Size and turnover
I dont think everyone is on the spreadsheet, including myself, but I have not seen any Restaurant Managers Approved that applied for a 186 DE after me. Only TRT or DE in another occupation. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I feel somewhat confused … you state you don't know the reason your 1st nomination was rejected... yet your signature states otherwise?
I think that the reason mentioned in his signature was not solid according to him.
lots of people get refusals based on the opinion of IMMI that the position isnt needed or that the business doesn’t have the financial capacity to pay the salary.
However those reasons for refusal seem a bit stupid because people applying for PR 186 TRT have been working in that position for that salary for 2+ years
because a lot of businesses (mainly restaurants) do dodgy deals with their employees, the department looks deeper into their finances and business structure I suppose. Some genuine applicants suffer from this unfortunately.

Try to make the most of every day, dont depend on your PR. Its a waste of time if you cant enjoy while waiting.
Do as much as possible to make your daily life better, do things for yourself and try not to think about it 24/7.
I have had a very hard time as well and also because my partner and I are from different countries I am getting more and more stressed the closer I come to the end of my 457.
But I dont want to look back one day and realised I spend 2 years stressing over something I cant control.
so move houses, start exercising, book a trip and enjoy your time off!
Having said that, Its hard to not think about it;) I wouldn’t be on this forum if I could follow my own advise.
